Taste a little bit. If it tastes off, then throw it out. Sell by dates aren't expiration dates. In fact, the dates often don't have any rhyme or reason.

I always go a day or two after it expires. No more than that though.
Then again it usually doesn't last long enough to expire with me.

Sell by date, maybe a day or two later but, after that it tastes funky, IMO.

Smell it first, if it smells alright, taste it, if it tastes alright you should be good to go. You'll know if it's bad.

Solution: lactose intolerance. Lactaid, man. That shit lasts forever. ...I still normally toss it on the sell by date though

I don't trust milk. I've had it go bad on me before the expiration date. And it kinda smells bad to me naturally so I can't really tell. Working in a store's dairy cooler for a few years where the racks have dried caked-on milk on them will do that to you.

....my 14 year old daughter Boston, has OCD, so we always check dates on our products...milk, bread, whatever...she wont eat it if it is dated 1 day past...

Once it starts smelling, tasting or looking funny. For milk once you start getting those little floating white things on your coffee.

Sometimes a day before the sell by date. Never, ever later than 3 days after.

Telling my boss I could not make it to work this morning was awful, she wouldn't stop laughing at me cause this happens fairly often. I need much better refrigerator management. I feel like paint tarp......after someone painted a house. Does that make any sense at all?

I hardly ever drink milk, we just buy it for cooking. So I will sometimes use it for up to a week after expiration as long as it looks and smells okay.
