I have to vote for 2002. Mainly because it featured the return of Shawn Michaels, something I thought I'd never see. Couldn't tell you how happy that made me.

2002 is off the hook, completely stacked card. Angle/Misterio, Flair/Jericho, Eddie/Edge, Benoit/RVD, HBK/HHH, Rock/Brock. It really doesn't get any better than that. This. Angle/Rey from that card is arguably Rey's best WWE match.

98 gets my vote.
Austin/Taker was an awesome match with a nearly perfect build

I loved 1992, but 1991 is a close second.

2002, closely followed by 1998. Then 2005.

Voted 02, but I also enjoyed 98 (was 7 and I still remember the Austin/Taker Highway to Hell video airing nonstop on the "pregame show") and 01 (had some decent stuff -- Edge/Storm, Rhyno/Jericho, RVD/Hardy ladder match, Angle/Austin and Rock/Booker).

SummerSlam 2005 just to relive Shawn Michaels' douchebaggery.

1988, just based on the Fabulous Rougeaus vs. British Bulldogs time-limit draw. One of my favorite matches ever.
However, I give 1998 a honorary mention. That was a really solid show top to bottom, plus the "debut" of Edge.

didn't watch all of 'em, but I know about all of them, and 1998's edition was fantastic - everyone was over, guys & gals gave 100% in and out of the ring, crowd was scorching hot, two very good main events, awesome storylines, everything felt perfect

2002 all the way. One of my top 5 WWE PPVs of all time.
I remember when it happened, I wanted to see it so bad. Then it happened and I preordered the DVD as soon as possible at Sun Coast (whatever the name of that old mall video chain was).
Angle vs. Rey is an amazing opener, Edge vs. Eddie was a very smartly worked fine match, HBK vs. HHH was a classic, Brock vs. Rock was very important of the scheme of things and a pretty entertaining match, RVD had his best WWE match of his career with Benoit. Great card.

Um, no. The RVD/Benoit match isn't even in RVD's top 10 matches, much less is it his best. In fact he and Benoit had a better match on Raw where Benoit won the IC title.
2002 is a good card but I just never liked the whole Lesnar push so the show has zero nostalgia for me. And the HHH/HBK match isn't so special in retrospect since the whole thrill of it initially was the worry about Shawn's back. Edge and Eddie featured some of the most blatant no selling of arm work I've ever seen.
I voted for 1992. Bret/Bulldog is my favorite match of all time and the PPV has tremendous sentimental value for me. Warrior/Macho is also a great match, add to it the Michaels/Martel match and LOD/Money Inc. and it is also quite a solid card underneath.

Note to pollmakers- Delete Wrestlemania 17 and Summerslam 2002 whenever these "Favorite ___" polls come up. Otherwise its extremely lopsided I picked Summerslam 1997. A good HHH/Foley cage match, a good Austin/Hart match up until the injury, and one of my favorite matches in Undertaker/Bret. I'd say its one of the best PPV's of one of their best years (Up there at least with IYH: Canadian Stampede)

2002 by a country mile. I'll never forget HHH vs HBK, amazing match.

Wow... I feel old, all of my favorites are the earlier shows and hardly anyone else has picked them. I pretty much like 1988-92 equally -- but I went with 92 because of the great Macho Man/Warrior match and Bret vs. Davey Boy. I hardly even remember what happened at 2002, oddly enough. I had to read a few posts to remember that's where HBK returned and went against HHH. And HBK had several better matches afterwards. And I was never a fan of Lesnar, so that's not an era I have any nostalgia for whatsoever.

Summerslam 1991 had Bret Hart winning his first Intercontinental Championship, the Legion of Doom winnin the tag titles and, hell, even Virgil winning the Million Dollar championship was a big deal. Throw in Sid Justice debuting and the Savage/Elizabeth wedding and its aftermath, and you have a great show. Don't forget about the surprisingly good Mountie/Big Boss Man match. Seriously, this is a forgotten gem really.

As much as I loved 2002, it was the first ppv I ever saw live, I had to pick 1992. It had my favorite match of all time, Bret vs Davey Boy, and I LOVED the atmosphere of it being outside with a hot crowd. I honestly enjoyed every match on that card.
