By the way the voiceover guy was talking on the Survivor Series promo it sounded like it was going in that direction, but I didnt want to believe they would team them up together. It should be interesting but I cant believe they are giving away his first match before Mania. Although they could still hyope Cena vs Rock as rocks first singles match back :S

I'm thinking they'll team up to take on a group of guys lead by CM Punk.

I'm thinking they'll team up to take on a group of guys lead by CM Punk. I'm not sure how much Punk would benefit to playing third string in this match. The focus is on Rock/Cena and Punk could get lost in the shuffle.

I'm thinking they'll team up to take on a group of guys lead by CM Punk. I don't know, I get the feeling they'll drag out his stuff with HHH and/or get him against Del Rio soon enough. Plus Rock/Cena need straight up heels go against. Miz/Truth would fit that a bit better.

I'm thinking they'll team up to take on a group of guys lead by CM Punk. Unless it was a team of those two with Punk against a team led by the man with the 10-inch nose. I doubt it.

I don't like it. They need to save the Rock for Mania in my opinion. As someone who will be in attendance for the Survivor Series this year, I say... f*** no.

I'm thinking they'll team up to take on a group of guys lead by CM Punk. Um, no, that's a terrible idea. Punk should stay far away from the Rock/Cena program.

I like this for a number of reasons:
1. It will boost the Survivor Series buyrate, which has been lacklustre for the last few years
2. It will add another element to the then year long Rock/Cena feud going into WM28.
3. It'll be interesting to see who turns on who during/after the match.
4. If Rocky comes back to Raw, it'll lead to some good segments.
5. I'm genuinely intrigued as to who will be on Rock/Cena's team (if its a Classic Survivor Series matchup) and who'll they be facing. If any heel can eliminate Cena or Rock that'll be huge for them.

All that overlap, plus Punk being overshadowed by Rock/Cena (and the subsequent backlash on here), I don't see how it could be anything less than a clustersmurf. Me says keep Punk away from the Rock/Cena angle. Actually, me says make Punk/Cena the attraction rather than Rock/Cena, but that's an argument for another day.

No matter who's on who's team this is a dumb idea. Takes away from the hype for Wrestlemania. The best option is Team Rock vs. Team Cena with the two of them never actually meeting in the ring. But it's just another case of the WWE rushing something.

Would make sense.

lol, they'll be on Punk's team and beat the crap out of each other. Punk always makes bad alliance decisions.

lol, they'll be on Punk's team and beat the crap out of each other. Punk always makes bad alliance decisions. Rock gets handcuffed to the ropes while Cena gets beaten down in the ring by Mark Henry and Brodus Clay. Finally, CM Punk finds the key and unlocks the cuffs so that Rock can make the save. After the match, Cena is noticeably jealous of the mutual respect between Rock and CM Punk. Book it!

Punk isn't too high on Dwayne (that's the Rock, for those who don't watch bad Disney movies) himself; actually, he's probably less high on him than Cena is.

I have a few gripes with this news.
1.) It was announced on Rock's facebook page. Why wouldn't they make a blockbuster announcement like this on RAW or at Night of Champions?
2.) Like others, I don't think he should wrestle before Mania 28. Sure it'll probably help Survivor Series pop a much bigger buyrate (and IIRC that show hasn't done as well in recent years so it needs help) and will help The Rock work off some ring rust...but at the same time if he only wrestles at Survivor Series and not again til WM 28, I really don't think a small performance in a tag match will be a big help in preparing for a singles match that's almost half a year away. Plus the pop in the Survivor Series buyrate might be offset by the buys that they lose for WM 28. The fans that were just wanting to see Rock make history by wrestling for the first time in 8 years might not be so interested anymore.
3.) It will make the winner of that particular match very predictable. Rock and Cena on the same team? No matter who they go up against there's no chance of them losing. The only way I would possibly believe that the opposing team would have a chance in hell at winning is if it included Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker or something...
But at the same time I'm not mad about it. I feel similarly to the way I felt about Punk being brought back so soon, and Triple H vs. Punk happening so early. Sure, they're rushing things and it may be counter-productive from a business/creative sense, but as a fan it will be very excited. The "old WWE" often times made bad decisions that were not fun for anybody other than maybe children, the "new WWE" makes 'bad decisions' that still makes for great entertainment.
So yea, I won't bitch much. That is unless they give away several Rock matches on free TV leading up to Mania.

I like the idea of Team Rock vs Team Cena a lot better, but they have the opportunity to do a turn here to create further excitement for WM28.
If they do this match, hopefully that means Rock is okay with having a few more matches and not just the one. Meaning, he can beat Cena at WM and get an insane ovation, and then drop it at Extreme Rules or Over the Limit 2012. That way we can get Rock/Miz, Rock/Del Rio, Rock/HHH, Rock/Rey, and few other potential big matches on either Raw or PPV. Plus, a Rock/Foley tag team reunion match on Raw would be awesome to see.

Listening to the Observer's Breaking News Audio on this, and apparently the plan is: {Spoiler} Rock, Cena, Punk, and Sheamus vs. Del Rio, Miz, Truth and one other guy (I'd guess Christian, if he's still a heel at that point)
