Had a recent craving for the Pokemon games recently after not bothering with them since Ruby and not really paying attention since. Just defeated Red on Soul Silver, Houndoom + nasty plot + flamethrower = instakill. On to my third badge on Pearl, I'm enjoying it so far. Do you guys think I should wait for some sort of update for Black + White before buying it next? The impression I seem to get is it is a somewhat disappointing edition. Don't let my word decide for you, but I stopped playing White midway through the story because I was quickly losing interest. Maybe it was the lack of interesting Pokemon, or interesting...anything, I'm not really sure. I haven't touched it in months. Some of the gameplay and graphics tweaks are real good, but it wasn't enough to hold my attention. I played a little LeafGreen and Platinum during the time, and now I'm pretty engrossed in Sapphire due to the Nuzlocke Challenge.

I'd say go ahead and get Black or White, since the next games coming out are straight sequels to them. Be warned that they have virtually no post-game, though.

So have they come out and said whether or not you'd be able to use generation 1-4 before defeating White/Black 2 yet?
As horrible as that sounds... it's a selling point for me. It really is.

Yeah, it's known quite a few of them will be part of it, and the Unova Pokedex this time has over 300 Pokemon in it. Hopefully this means there's no more stupidity with gyms only having the same two Pokemon in every single fight, before the leader has one of their evolved forms. Why yes, I am talking about a specific one that could and should have been avoided because Unova has plenty of Electric types.
Granted, way I look at it I can pretty much trade over anything I want now anyway. Hell, I'm thinking on using Chikorita or something as opposed to yet again using one of the Unova starters - I like them and all, but I'm bored with them.

Don't get me started on Super Effective, that thing hasn't updated in about 6 months. Of course, VGCats and whatnot but that is some severe schedule slip.

I don't know if I'll be able to get this any time soon since I can't afford a DS right now, but if I did, I'd be hoping for Ralts and Clefairy to show up as well.

Why DOES every main Professor from the games have a hard time telling whether you're a boy or a girl?

I also have reached a problem; I wanna start White over again but I don't want to lose tons of pokemon that I'd traded over. I'm thinking of just stopping into Cash Convertors and buying a copy of Black if they have any of them.

I remember making a thread about this a good year or so ago, but I thought I'd ask again here:
If you were a gym leader, and had to choose 1 type to specialize in, which would it be and who would be your team?
