I remember making a thread about this a good year or so ago, but I thought I'd ask again here: If you were a gym leader, and had to choose 1 type to specialize in, which would it be and who would be your team? F***ing Dark, because it is insane that there still hasn't been a Dark gym.

Fire: Charizard or Arcanine Water: Feraligatr or Swampert Grass: Tropius... I guess? Electric: Electivire or Magnezone Ground: Nothing "primarily" ground, but Swampert fulfills the requirements... Rock: Aerodactyl or (if he weren't so useless), Archeops. Ice: Lapras... since his secondary is ice... Steel: Metagross Flying: Since flying is 99.9% secondary (Tornadus is the only "pure" flying type, and there is no primary flying type), I'll go with Altaria and Braviary (I called mine "ChxnMrca"!) Bug: Durant, Yanmega, and Scizor Fighting: Lucario Psychic: Alakazam, Beheeyem, Reuniclus, and Gallade Dark: Absol, I never knew anyone who had Zoroark to let me have an egg, so can't say that one. Ghost: Spiritomb, I guess. I just thought Cofagrigus looked cool Dragon: Yeah, pretty much all of them. Altaria, Dragonite, Salamence, Haxorus, Rayquaza (cheating, I know, but that thing is just awesome)... Poison: since everyone had a psychic type, these were pretty damn useless. I GUESS I had the most success with Drapion, since it nullified psychic attacks... Normal: Ditto (that whore!), the Porygon family, Kangaskhan (in the first few generations, at least), Snorlax, and Bouffalant (come on, Afro Bison. That's awesome).

Normal: Snorlax Fire: Ninetales Water: Milotic/Kingdra (tie; way too many great choices) Grass: Venusaur Electric: Ampharos Ground: Excadrill Rock: Aerodactyl Ice: Lapras Steel: Metagross Flying: Braviary Bug: Vespiqueen Fighting: Lucario Psychic: Gardevoir/Gallade (tie) Dark: Honchkrow Ghost: Chandelure Dragon: Garchomp Poison: Crobat
Tough to narrow this down, even with ties. As far as Gym Leader type, I'd probably go Fire. Fire-types have always been a favorite of mine despite the type being a relative wasteland until B&W.

Well holy s*** GameFreak, just take all of my money, and my first born. Instead of fretting over "spoilers," I'll just agree. So much. Can't wait.

It could be because I've grown accustomed to the addictive simplicity of the first 4 generations since childhood, but I'm just not feeling the 5th generation games. I want to, but I can't. I can't even bring myself to finishing White, as I have no interest in it, so I just replay the hell out of the past titles to fill my Pokemon needs. I liked when they would add little features every generation so it didn't feel like the same exact game, but IMO, I think this just feels like too much.
I know it sounds crazy, but hey, a lot of what I do and say doesn't make any sense.

I don't how anyone could have follwed after generation I. it just became too much for me, so i lost interest. Because Generation II was f***ing amazing. It wasn't too much and the thought of 100 new pokemon was awesome. It felt fresh. I Know people say that R/B/Y are the best because they were the first and all that nostalgia stuff but IMO Gold & Silver (and by extension HeartGold and SoulSilver) are the greatest pokemon games of all time. Gen III, while decent games, came out after pokemania died down and the designs were just too exotic and different to recapture the magic.

It has basically no post-game content, there are less routes than even Johto and with that comes a limited, awful Pokemon selection even in the post-game, and it seems to expect you to play the Dream World nonstop if you actually want to get the most out of the game, which just isn't very fun itself.

If they didn't limit the dreamworld so much, I'd probably give enough of a shit to use it.

I like Gen III for two reasons:
1. Gardevoir, and
2. I think Gen III has a better feel to it than the other generations.
