Well, with all the talk of bosses in WWE, how do you like your authority figures there and etc.?

I am so sick of the General Manager concept, it's beyond boring at this point. I like the idea of a Jack Tunney figure a lot better.

I like them entertaining, I don't care if they're face, heel, or neutral

I'm sick to death of general managers. I don't give a s*** about the person who runs the show. Stop making them the central part of every angle.

You know who was great in hindsight? The Anonymous Raw GM. He/she sat around and made matches for the most part. It was used to help establish characters (Edge flipping out on the computer, and was just a generic, robotic speaking entity. It was perfect.

As much hate as heel GM's get, I have a bit of a soft spot for them, to say the least. Vickie, Bischoff, Mr. McMahon, and Johnny Ace now; they don't have to be affably evil or over-the-top villains, but I think it adds to the drama if the major face (be it Austin, Cena, Punk, or whoever) starts off with their back against the wall, either through authority apathy or through the authority actively rooting against them.

I liked Teddy when he would come and book a match or establish the stipulation for a PPV match. That was about right. I have no desire to see GMs in a storyline anymore.
EDIT: now if in the process of booking a match every now and then he just happens to favor heels or faces I wouldn't mind.

I just don't think a Tunney-esque figure would work anymore.
After almost a decade of a half of getting the opponent they want the night they want them how many people would be willing to wait? A show with all matches pre-booked would either be nothing but dq finishes as people run in to attack hated rivals, or it would show the hatred isn't all that intense and dilute the feuds.

I think that Ace pretty much WAS a Tunney-esque guy at first, in that he was always trying to do his job the best he could, but couldn't because everything was so hectic.
They just made him a bigger character because his monotone, orderly way of speaking and doing things got him booed nearly everywhere.

Personally I like them chaotic neutral. Like "I don't give a damn about you guys but THIS SOUNDS INSANE ENOUGH TO BE FUN WILDCARD BITCHES WHOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Jack Tunney
A neutral president figure acting like the head of a sporting organisation, which is what WWE needs to be portrayed as, rather than a stupid guest host, as if WWE was SNL, or an evil GM, which has been done to death.

There's no way he was ever a face.

Teddy has kinda turned me against face authority figures, but there have been some good ones. Commissioner Foley for example and I think Corny in TNA was a face? I liked the Tunney-esque kind too. But diabolical villain makes for good stories, so please let them bring in Regal as GM asap thank you very much.

Yeah, it means more when the guy comes out sporadically to make judgments - but when they are out twice a week, at 3 slots per show being evil or blabbing, it loses the "importance" feel.

Tired of heel authority figures. It's like having a one-track mind.
I almost would rather have someone like a Jack Tunney running the show. When you saw him, it was a big deal.

Man, back in the days when Tunney came out to speak you knew something big was going to happen!!! Hold your breath someone's gonna get stripped of his title or something. I liked it.

Authority figures are too easy to use for lazy booking, and they should be phased out into a more Tunney type frequency. In pro sports you only hear about/see authority figures when some serious stuff goes down or they show up at a game. It should be the same in wrestling.
