Did anyone else despise this game as much as I? I was 8 when it came out...I enjoyed the Nitro game much better.

I remember playing it as well back in those old days, and it didn't feel right. The sound and graphics were alright at best, but the game play was not there at all. I had a hard time deciphering how close I had to be to hit the opponents, and the cameras were just the worst thing ever in a video game... even worse than Bubsy 3D.

I always wanted to play this game and the other PS1 wrestling game like this that came before it, but never had a PS1. Then the N64 games came out and I just forgot about these.

I would also like to know how the game is to those who owned it. I didn't buy it since at the time I didn't own a PS1, and by the time I did the PS2 was a year away and I had a huge back catalog of games to get too so it just got pushed to the side.

Very fun game at the time, I was 8 years old when that game came out. I was in love with Hogan's top rope delayed vertical suplex followed by a leg drop.

I loved it. It was challenging to get used to at the time, but i put alot of hours into it. No tag team matches ethier which was a shame. Looked forward to Nitro coming out but it sucked in the gameplay areas compared to World, presentation whise it was superb though. I didnt have a 64 at the time so there was no other option at the time, and Warzone didnt even come out until september i think.
I recently played it and loved it all over again. But now i recognise all the japanese guys. I understand it is not for everyone's taste, especially those who had a 64, but it kept me going for months where it was the only game i played.

Once I figured out how the game worked, I appreciated it a bit.
Before that, though, I had no idea what the hell The Man Breeze (what a weird name for a developer) was thinking.

Was extremely frustrating but I LOVED the roster with the knock off japan/mexican wrestlers...It was the precursor to the n64 titles and a game ill always remember for how much time I put into it.

I love it. It's not as good as World Tour on the N64 but once you recognise who some of the Mexican/Japanese guys are and get used to the controls it's pretty fun!

I absolutely LOVE this game! Every wrestling fan should appreciate this game for being the blueprint for WCW/nWo Revenge & No Mercy.

It looks a lot worse in hindsight and is horribly dated now, but at the time I was psyched for it! I also liked it a lot better than Nitro, which I thought was horrible. Word Tour for the N64 was a lot more fun though.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the game probably would have been funner if the roster was better. Like 15 or so WCW guys (I think) and then a whole bunch of knock offs of real wrestlers.

I thought it was great. Compared to the piece of steaming feces that is WCW Nitro and WCW Thunder, it's the best ever.

VS The World was the starting point for all the great games on the N64.
