www.wwe.com/classics/greatest-rookie-years-list10. Tatanka 9. Shane McMahon 8. Sheamus 7. Kurt Angle 6. Yokozuna 5. The Giant 4. Alberto Del Rio 3. Goldberg 2. Undertaker 1. Brock Lesnar Thoughts? I figured the top 3 would be those 3, just slightly different.

ADR got a rumble win and a MITB win. I don't know if the 2 WWE title wins were within a year though.

Actually the only thing Del Rio accomplished during his first year was the Rumble win, and that was tainted by his Mania match. Angle, on the other hand won the Euro, IC, and WWE title, and won KOTR, all within his first year.

Not counting his numerous vignettes, ADR debuted the SmackDown after SummerSlam 2010, IIRC.
So everything up to SummerSlam 2011 and his first WWE Title win would count for his rookie year (including the Rumble and MITB).

Del Rio debuted on June 25, 2010. MITB was on July 17, 2011. He cashed in the briefcase on August 14, 2011. So yeah, aside from the Rumble win, Del Rio's first year wasn't all that spectacular in comparison to some other former rookies. He had video packages but he didn't actually debut in person on TV until after Summerslam. Most people would consider his rookie year to be Aug 2010-Aug 2011 during which time he won the Royal Rumble, MITB and the WWE title. And Kurt Angle technically debuted on TV in March/April 1999 and had a mini-feud with Tiger Ali Singh before disappearing for a few months then coming back at Survivor Series. So technically speaking, his King of the Ring win and WWF title win took place over a year after he debuted on TV. You're right about ADR. I misread Wikipedia. Though apparently the WWE doesn't could Angle's feud on Heat as a debut. But still, even with the MITB win and cash-in, Angle's first year looked much better than Del Rio's.

So I think his post-WWE activities are why he's so low.

How the hell is Angle below someone like del Rio or Yokozuna? Pretty much my reaction. Most of the major titles and a King of the Ring title in one year and he's not number 1?

I remember when Angle had the best rookie year of all time. Amazing how leaving the company destroys all the hyperbole they use to put you over.

What a load of bs. Goldberg should be #1 easily. The guy never lost a match in his rookie year, & beat some of the biggest names in the business. He beat Hulk Hogan for the World Title, it doesn't get any better than that. Of course WWE is going to be biased towards it's own creations though. With those 10 listed it should be like this in my opinion:
1. Goldberg 2. Brock Lesnar 3. The Undertaker 4. The Giant 5. Kurt Angle 6. Alberto Del Rio 7. Yokozuna 8. Sheamus 9. Shane Mcmahon 10. Tatanka
