Christian/D-Von Vs. Henry/Tazz is starting now, and it seems poised to be an interesting contest.

Match Result: Christian & D-Von Dudley def. Mark Henry & Tazz via pinfall at 6:01 Christian pinned Tazz after a Frog Splash
This one was pro Christian/D-Von from the start. A lot of spirit was earned by slamming Mark Henry around, with finishers aplenty. Tazz and Henry showed signs of a comeback as the match progressed, but it was too late to do anything about it. Christian used his Powerbomb into Facebuster against Tazz, as D-Von hit his trademark Saving Grace slam on Henry later on. Christian and D-Von also delivered a double suplex to Tazz. Christian's Frog Splash to Tazz was the first top rope finish of the tournament.

Match Result: Mr. Ass & Steven Richards def. Test & Farooq via pinfall at 11:55 Richards pinned Test after a Steven Kick
The longest match in the tournament so far, even if most of that time was spent outside the ring. There was a double powerbomb to Mr. Ass from Test and Farooq, but that's as far as it went. It was a very back and forth affair, with Mr. Ass and Richards taking turns wailing on Test. A crossody attempt from Richards failed at one point, taking him out for a few seconds. Weapons were used aplenty, and there was blood for the first time, as Test was busting open via the corner, while Mr. Ass was busted up by a big headbutt from Farooq. Farooq seemed to stall when it came to breaking up the pinfall, and by the time he saw what was happening, Mr. Ass had already knocked him down with a big diving clothesline, which sealed the deal.
Final match of the first round will be tomorrow.

Match Result: The Rock & Perry Saturn def. Essa Rios & Crash Holly via pinfall at 2:52 Saturn pinned Rios after a Brainbuster DDT
This one was a slaughter. Rock and Saturn pummeled Rios and Crash from the get-go. diving clotheslines and knees to the groin were aplenty, as well as a double suplex from Rock and Saturn to Rios. The Rock leapt from the top and drove his knees into Rios's gut as Saturn droped Crash with his Brainbuster DDT. He didn't go for an immediate pin, mostly because Rock put Rios in an armbar (Which he did multiple times) first. Crash managed to throw Rock out of the ring, only to miss a plancha to the outside, leaving Rios a sitting duck for another Brainbuster DDT from Saturn, putting the match away in short order.

This is what happens when you get the last pick and you're stuck with Crash Holly and Essa Rios.

Match Result: Val Venis & D'lo Brown def. Viscera & Jeff Hardy via pinfall at 4:38 Venis pinned Hardy after a Money Shot
The presence of Viscera was more a pro than a con for D'lo and Venis, as they slammed him a number of times to get high spirit. Venis then targeted the weaker Hardy and dominated him, but failed to pin him twice, when both of his front and back finishers were greeted with rope breaks. Viscera and D'lo were a bit more evenly matched, but that made little difference in the result. A lot of strike battles ensued between wrestlers, and at the end, Viscera had outmatched D'lo, but ran right into him when trying to break up the pin at the very end.

Match Result: Triple H & Matt Hardy def. Al Snow & Road Dogg via pinfall at 5:09 Hardy pinned Road Dogg after a Sleeper Slam
This one went back and forth, beginning with a brief taunt battle between Road Dogg and Hardy. Hardy attempted a dropkick from the apron very early on, but got caught. Wrestlers were being thrown out of the ring left and right, leading to a brief period of isolation. HHH and Snow got into a couple grappling duels, with Snow delivering a number of big German Suplexes. At one point, Hardy succeeded with a crossbody to the outside onto a fallen Al Snow. Not a lot of big moments here, but it was still an exciting match.

Match Result: Christian & D-Von Dudley def. Chris Jericho & The Godfather via pinfall at 7:08 D-Von pinned Godfather after a Snap Powerbomb.
This one went all over the place. It was pretty even throughout most of the match. There were a number of high spots, namely Christian unsuccessfully attempting a crossbody onto Jericho on the outside, and a dropkick from the apron from Jericho that hit his own partner rather than one of his opponents. D-Von and Christian gave Jericho both a Double Suplex and a Double Powerbomb to soften him up. At one point, Jericho pummeled a hapless Christian outside the ring for about a half a minute. A lot of strike and grapple battles ensued throughout the match, but in the end, it was the team of tag rivals that came out on top. Jericho made a pin on Christian at the end as well, but he was a second or two too late.
