Good to see D-Generation Mattitude doing good so far. I'd think D-Xtreme works better, personally. Anyway, time for Mr. Ass/Richards Vs. Rock/Saturn.

Match Result: The Rock & Perry Saturn def. Mr. Ass & Steven Richards via pinfall at 8:59 Saturn pinned Richards after a Brainbuster DDT
This one was truly right down to the wire. Mr. Ass began by pummeling Rock on the outside. Mr. Ass and Richards got out to a fast start, including Richards delivering his patented Steven Kick to Saturn, but only got a one count. Mr. Ass and Richards continued dominating, hitting Saturn with a double piledriver. Eventually, Rock and Saturn started to fire back up, including a Brainbuster DDT on Richards and a Rock Bottom on Mr. Ass. Neither move got the job done, and things were even sided again. Richards at one point hit a leg drop from the apron on the Rock's prone body. Eventually, Richards got his special back and downed Saturn with another Steven Kick, but only got a two count out of it. Meanwhile, Rock was truly firing back on Mr. Ass, delivering a superplex from the top. Mr. Ass and Richards tried to recuperate, and nearly did, but Rock and Saturn outmatched them. Rock handled Mr. Ass with a takedown as Saturn was delivering the pin.
The semis start tomorrow.

I think it's easy to see what teams are going to be the underdogs.

Things are very slowly coming to an end. Let's get Venis/Brown Vs. HHH/Hardy out of the way.

Match Result: Val Venis & D'lo Brown def. Triple H & Matt Hardy via pinfall at 8:31 D'lo pinned Triple H after a Sky High
Another close match. Both teams traded the advantage very early on. A number of high spots, including two dropkick failures from Hardy and a double ax handle from the Middle rope by Venis. At one point, HHH and Hardy gave D'lo a double suplex, but Brown & Venis fought back with a big double powerbomb drop to HHH. A number of isolation periods were in there, keeping things even. Venis was primed to get his special, but it wasn't to be. Hardy was the weak link of the team and was often ganged on. Aim for the wrestlers was a bit off, as partners hit each other by mistake multiple times. HHH fought Venis off enough to deliver the Pedigree, but it only got a two count. The result was a bit of an upset to be sure, but the result stands all the same. Ultimately, D'lo and Venis came out on top.

It's almost the end of the road. Let's get Rock/Saturn Vs. Christian/D-Von done with so the tournament finals can be set up.
Socko!

Match Result: The Rock & Perry Saturn def. Christian & D-Von Dudley via pinfall at 11:52 Rock pinned Christian after a Rock Bottom
A Kendo stick was brought into this match, and did more harm then good, as the wrestlers picked it up constantly without going for pins. This one was pretty even, as both teams struggled to truly take advantage of the match. There was a couple shots to partners rather than opponents, but it all went smoothly nonetheless. Rock failed a double axe handle from the top, while Christian failed as well with a Missile Dropkick from the top. At one point, Saturn gave D-Von a German Suplex bridged into a pin, but got a long two count out of it. Midway through the match, D-Von started taking apart Rock on the outside, delivering both his front and back finishers on the floor. The Rock fired back, while Saturn did his thing, with quick strikes and submissions aplenty. It looked to be over when D-Von delivered a Snap Powerbomb to Saturn, but for whatever reason, decided to focus on the Rock instead of pinning the fallen man. There were a lot of errors in judgement in this one. Perhaps both teams were more focused on the finals than this match. Whatever the reason, there aren't any excuses to be made here. Christian and D-Von were definitely an unlikely team, and made it very far, but luck was not enough to bring down the People's Champ and the master of the Rings of Saturn.

Match Result: Val Venis & D'lo Brown def. The Rock & Perry Saturn via pinfall at 4:43 Venis pinned Saturn after a Money Shot
And that's it for this one! It was a back and forth affair, with many strike and grapple battles throughout. Things got heated up when D'lo and Venis delivered a pair of dropkicks to their opponents. D'lo also nailed two elbow drops from the middle rope onto Rock and Saturn both. Rock gave D'lo a low blow to even things up, while Saturn and Venis were evenly matched. It seemed to be over when Saturn delivered not one, but two Brainbuster DDTs to Venis. But remarkably, Venis still kicked out! Venis then began to fight back against Saturn, while D'lo had Rock on the ropes. After slamming Saturn one more time, Venis headed to the top. He took a moment to bask in the glory, and made a leap for the ages onto Saturn, finishing off the match, and the tournament.
Well, thanks to all who took part in the tournament, and congratulations to Congorilla for picking the winning team! I had a lot of fun watching and covering this, and maybe next month I'll do another one. Until then, that's this one done with.
