Total kayfabe to build up to the match. Why do people think it's IMPOSSIBLE that Austin would kayfabe leading into his possible WRESTLEMANIA COMEBACK MATCH? Absolutly. If I'm Austin, arguabley the biggest star in the history of this business, I would do any and everything to get people talking about a possible comeback match.

I made a passing comment to my friend just the other day that I think now Lesnar's back in a pro-wrestling capacity, perhaps now Austin sees more money in a potential big match/program with Brock than he does CM Punk? Just a thought.

Just a thought. It's no secret that while Austin loves wrestling, he also wants to make as much money as possible from it, which is understandable. If he only has one match left in him and he thinks that wrestling Brock Lesnar, John Cena or even The Rock again would make him more money than a match with Punk would then that's probably what he’s going to do.

I'll say this, if it happens, I want them to throw a curveball and not even mention alcohol or Straight Edge. They've got that covered in the Jericho feud. I want Punk vs. Austin to be all about two guys fighting because the fans want it, and for all the intensity to be based around the pride of wanting to win. That's how you make the rivalry heated while still excusing keeping both men face.

Exactly, and there's no problem with that. Austin's always been about business and doing what makes the most sense business-wise. Sure, the Internet wet dream is Austin vs. Punk, but imo that would only work and make sense if this were SES circa 2009 CM Punk. But this is 2012 and he's not that guy anymore. Otherwise, what reason would they have to feud? This isn't Rock vs. Cena with a built-in backstory. They couldn't bill it as "today's generation vs. yesterday's", because Punk's not a top guy in the same league as Cena. I could definitely see Austin thinking the $$$ lies in Austin vs. Lesnar, and wouldn't blame him for a second if that were the case.

How can you believe that? As good as Austin was on the stick , He was terrible in the ring as stone cold and even as a Hollywood Blonde it was clear Pillman was better then him. Punk on the other hand brought the Anaconda Vise and Go To Sleep to American Wrestling. On The Mic , Austin far better then Punk , I'll admit that but Punk could out wrestle Austin even in his prime. Heck , In his in-ring prime , Austin's finisher was a stun gun. Plus I've seen Punk bust out Suicide Dives and Springboard Clotheslines on a weekly basis , when was the last time you saw Austin try one of those? Has he ever in his entire career? Ugh, people still think pro wrestling is about what your "moveset" is? Ditto. That's what's wrong with a lot of wrestling nowadays, particularly on some of the indies; so much focus on movez and flying around and not enough on actual storytelling.

With the current Punk character, I just don't think it would work. I wouldn't buy a "cause the fans want it", because when you tear off all the charade and catchphrases...that's all Rock/Cena was. If they could pull of a good story then I'd happily eat my words, but right now I have little desire to see Punk/Austin. But that doesn't mean it shouldn't happen, I would no doubt become engrossed. I would just be indifferent either way as it relates to the outcome.

Wrestling loves Austin, fans love Austin. He doesn't need to make remarks such as these really since we all know there will never be another Stone Cold. Punk is annoying at the moment as a World Title holder but he deserves to be more than a upper midcarder IMO, just without the belt of course.
