Tried to think of a better title. Failed. Anyway, what if Punk never cut his worked-shoot promo, Cena beat him clean at MITB and Punk left to take a break as supposedly the original plan was? Most importantly I'm curious to hear how this would have affected the Wrestlemania card and how the WWE Title scene would be booked now.

Miz would very likely be champion right now.

I'm thinking Del Rio or Cena would be champion right now

Rock wouldn't have beat Cena because their match would have been for the title. Either that or SPRING OF ROCK would have ended with him running away with the WWE title to Hollywood in the most hilarious angle ever.

Rock/Cena would have probably been for the WWE Championship and Cena would have probably feuded with a mix of Del Rio and Miz for the Title until Mania.

He would have left jobbing to Mason Ryan and he would have come back jobbing to Mason Ryan.

Cena would have held the title until probably TLC before losing it to Jericho thanks to Kane, kickstarting the Kane/Cena feud. I think it the only major changes to the Mania card and how things are going would be Jericho would have won the title on his return and defended against and losing to Orton. Kane would probably have had a throw away match with some other face that was left off the card or been thrown into the GM battle for no reason. I think everything else would stay the same.
Punk would have probably taken months off and maybe had two or three matches for Evolve, probably putting over Gargano to close out the ECW Arena.

Wonder who Jericho would be in a program with now as well. Orton perhaps?

He's not over, his music and his hair and his beard and mic skills and his catchphrase and his finishers and his WWE title-holdingness are over.

He's not over, his music and his hair and his beard and mic skills and his catchphrase and his finishers and his WWE title-holdingness are over. So... he's over? I'm not following if this is sarcasm or not. Isn't that like saying that Hogan wasn't over, but his look, his mic skills, his posing, his finishers, and his title reign were over? I had always thought that you were either over or you weren't. The reason doesn't matter.

Thats like Miz saying " Im the Miz....and IIIIIIIIIIIM... a really humble guy who just happens to have a personality, look, voice, and skill set that are AWWWWWWWEEEESSSSSOOOOOMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEE". Not that any of that mess is true.

If Punk never cut the promo, I think he still would've become WWE Champion, but he would've remained a heel. The New Nexus would probably would have never have disbanded so quickly. Punk would have retained the title through Nexus aid. Since the Nexus remains together, we never get Otunga as Laurinaitis' assistant (and possible Johnny as an onscreen character altogether), or McGillicutty as a prominent force on NXT.
Punk would've held the title possibly until WM until being dethroned by the Royal Rumble winner, whomever that would've been.
With Punk remaining heel, Alex Riley might not have been de-pushed, and John Morrison would not have been jobbed out so badly, as they were next on the totem pole behind Rey Mysterio.

If Punk didn't cut that promo, he would have lost to Cena at MitB. Cena would have probably entered a program with Rey Mysterio leading up to a Summerslam match instead of Raw. ADR cashes in at Summerslam, and he enters a program with Cena as before, with them exchanging the belt somewhat as it did, but more drawn out.
I do wonder how Kevin Nash would be used in this scenario, as there would be no Punk to sabotage. Probably no Trips match until WM. Miz would be largely the same.
Jericho could be the same, but he would have no main event face to play off of as Cena would be busy with Kane and the Rock. It's an interesting rift.

We would have been relegated to Del Rio vs Cena for the Summer through the fall. And to be honest it would have probably sucked, build wise.

Wonder who Jericho would be in a program with now as well. Orton perhaps? I remember reading that Jericho said he only came back to work an angle with Punk, though that could slightly kayfabed. So if Punk wasn't the star he is now then maybe Jericho wouldn't have returned at all. Looks like he's leaving again once this is over so could be likeley.

If Punk never cut the worked-shoot promo, he probably would have walked around the time of his last Orton match (possibly via kick in the head or something). The main reason, if not the only reason, he went to MITB with John Cena was because the mega-push was part of his re-signing. So we can't talk about MITB without Punk getting over or beating John Cena with everything else being constant (the promo, the main event match) because it was a package deal.

Is it wrong if I would of marked for this, have Rock turn back into Hollywood Rock and do little video packages from a movie set or from his home each week. Then Cena or maybe now Brock beating Rock at SummerSlam. I would of loved that.

Why is it accepted that Punk was about to leave the WWE?
I Know there were a few NEWZ stories going around before his worked shoot saying his contract was coming up and he wern't going to resign and Punks said in interviews he was going to leave, but any interview with a wrestler is usually semi kayfabe and those newz stories were probably leaked out as part of the work for the storyline.
if he wouldn't have done the worked shoot he'd probably still be in WWE, maybe would have even had a badly booked run with one of the world titles and every one on here would be complaining about how under utilised he is.
