RVD pointed out in his Byte This interview that many of the former ECW alumni are now signed to TNA.
Let's take a look at some of the people involved in the last One Night Stand
Blue Meanie - Beat up by JBL, briefly WWE hired and just as quickly fired Dawn Marie - Fired, and in litigation against WWE Dudleys - TNA Chris Jericho - On hiatus from wrestling Eddie Guerrero - Dead Lance Storm - Semi-retired Mike Awesome - Retired Rhyno - TNA Sabu - TNA Tajiri - Returned to Japan
As for current ECW alumni in the WWE:
Chris Benoit Dean Malenko *thanks Tom Waits... you make interesting music Guido Joey Styles Johnny Swinger Kid Kash Mick Foley Nova Paul Heyman Psicosis Rey Mysterio RVD Stevie Richards Super Crazy Tazz Tommy Dreamer Vito LaGrasso
The talent looks a little too thin to be living up to One Night Stand. I suppose you never know who will agree to work the PPV, but I'm not sure I like the idea of an annual ECW PPV. Those guys are slowly but surely aging...

I did a thread in Wrest of wrestling listing all the guys who COULD work the PPV..(alumni who are still alive and not with TNA), as well as some possible matches. It COULD be good..im going to give it a shot.

Besides the fact that it being called One Night Stand in the first place was supposed to allude to it being a one time only deal because ECW is, generally speaking, dead, and most involved want it to remain that way, as it should do.
PS. You forgot Malenko in the WWE.

Well, if Funk has agreed to do it, he and Sandman and Dreamer can have a three way dance.
Benoit/Malenko which would be enough for me to order the PPV.
Tajiri might be willing to come back for the show, and could always work with Super Crazy.
Honestly, it could get pulled off with a solid card. Having said that, it depends on the approach. If it's just ECW guys, period, that's fine, but if they do another "wow, look, it's RAW stars" angle, I won't be happy.

Didn't TNA allow their former ECW wrestlers to do the show the first time?

No..I dont think so.
But there are alot more ex ECW guys in TNA now.
They do have a smaller talent pool..but it's still deep enough to do a good show in my opinion.

I'd have to see the ACTUAL list of who'd be competing before passing judgement, but it is a good point. They're not in the same position this year as they were last year.
I think this might be a mistake, too. The ONS was so good that trying to duplicate it might not have the results Vince is looking for. Instead of making it special (and they could make OTHER "special" PPVs, I'm sure), it's probably going to be a rehash.

ONS should be dead and gone. No need for another as the talent pool is quickly drying up and now they're just milking it.

I want to see it.
I know that as the years pass the less practical it will get..but I miss ECW and I'll take even a watered down version over anything going today.
I wish they would actually restart ECW legit..that way they could bring in new blood from the indys and such.

I wish Mike Awesome would just come back altogether. This guy only lasted 2 months in the WWE and the thing was he was the first one to win a title from the alliance. One night stand 2 will be ok if RVD wrestles, Dreamer, Shane Douglas, Tazz, and at least Sabu. The undercard ECW wrestlers were always kinda shaky and never really impressed me. i dont want Rey Misterio, or Benoit even involved. If you weren't on Barely Legal 1997 then you probally weren't worthy.

I disagree with that. There is a whole bunch to talent that came later I'd love to see there..Jerry Lynn for example.

The second he's off on his own or to TNA, you know he'll be back in business. (Even better with TNA if they don't let him near the books.)

I know i'm an ECW mark..and I realise that I'd be the last to ever stop defend it; but if anyone can pull off a good show..it's Paul Heyman.
I'd actually like to see Paul work creative and Gabe Sapolosky take care of the financial somewhere.
i have a feeling if Gabe ran the books in ECW it'd still be alive and kicking.

Hell, let Paul go to ROH, they've got the talent pool, and Gabe's already having success with it.

Personally, I was really disappointed in ONS. I only truly enjoyed Storm Vs. Jericho. I hope it's better this time. If it weren't for all the problems, I'd have:
Rey Vs Too Cold Scorpio
Jericho Vs Tanaka
The Eliminators Vs. The Impact Players
Tommy Dreamer Vs. Raven
Benoit Vs Malenko
RVD Vs. Jerry Lynn Vs. Rhyno
Tazz Vs. Sabu

Everyone keeps forgetting Al Snow. I just want to see his classic ECW entrance one more time.
