Didnt The Giant win the WCW title like immediatlly too? His first match after maybe 6 months to a year at the Power Plant. Swagger and Lesnar were signed right out of college and spent maybe a year or two in developmental.

Big Show. I don't think he even wrestled in the indies and won the WCW title in his first match at 23 years old.

Angle and Lesnar don't really count for me. Angle was a Olympic gold medallist, something which was the culmination of years of toil. Then he gets signed by WWE and spends over a year in developmental. Similar with Lesnar, NCAA champion and he spent 2 years in developmental. Orton did a few indy shows, one year of developmental and that's it. Between Angle, Lesnar, and Del Rio, neither one of them count, even if they were hotshotted to the top; Angle and Lesnar were and remain exceptionally talented legit wrestlers, and Del Rio (and Sin Cara, for that matter) are pretty much icons in Lucha Libre. On the other hand, while I do agree that the Rock had a considerable amount of hardship, that hardship wasn't in wrestling. Edge had it pretty rough too, and he wouldn't see his first heavyweight title for some ten-odd years; hell, despite what he'd done in his career and as big as his fanbase is, he was still never a major promotional face of the company. My vote would have to go to Batista, though. Rock (and Cena, for that matter) were very quickly made the face of the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era respectively, but both of them got there by being exceptionally talented, especially on Rock's part. As for Orton, as much as he's been given, he was still always someone's second fiddle; they may have given him a lot, but the one thing they've never given him is the title of top dog. They did give that title to Batista.

the rock.did he ever work for an indy?i think he went from bombing out in the cfl to the wwe main roster 6 months later.to the wwe title in less than 2 years. He was in USWA for a couple of years, he wasnt very good there. Actually he was only in USWA for a few months, which was being used as WWF developmental. They pushed him big time the second he came into the USWA as Flex Kavana and I HATED him, mostly because they were talking him up big time and I thought he looked stupid with his dumb pineapple haircut. Then he came to the WWF as "The Blue Chipper" and I'd already had to sit though months of people talking him up in the USWA, and now I had to sit through the WWF announcers talking him up, so I hated him more.

I don't agree with Rocky. He actually got himself, his personality, and his own gimmick over. That very rarely happens anymore.
