The flaming and baiting here has recently got out of hand and this forum (WWE Current) has more of it than elsewhere.
We don't like having to make these kind of announcements but it's been so bad recently, we feel it's necessary.
First and foremost, respect your fellow posters.
Second, just because anyone has an opinion that may go against the grain in terms of majority feeling, they are not necessarily trolling. We do not need people throwing out accusations of being a troll just because someone doesn't like a wrestler that is for the most part, popular here.
But on the flip side of that. If you do have a negative opinion, then please back up with some reasoning why. You don't like someone then that's fine but please state more than just "he's s***".
Third, just because someone likes something that is (for the most part) popular here or elsewhere, they are not an "IWC sheep" or "drinking Vince's Kool-aid".
Fourth, if someone is flaming you or being disrespectful, then do not respond with more flaming. Contact one of the Moderators (details below) and let them deal with it. Flaming is flaming, no matter who started it, saying you flamed someone because "they done it first" will not make any difference. Take the high road.
Lastly, there is a difference between a fact and an opinion. As has been said countless times before, this is a discussion board, so discuss things civilly. We want people to be able to discuss things here and disagreements will always occur. What we want is people to be respectful of someone having a different opinion. We don't expect every disagreement to end with people e-hugging, in fact, we don't need every disagreement over a matter to end at all. Just do it respectfully.
If you see a post you think is going to cause issues, you can do one of the following:
* Go to the "Ask a Mod" thread in off-topic and bring it up there.
* Send one of the Mods online a Private Message and link them the thread in question.
* Click the "Report to Mod" icon at the bottom of the post. These reports can only be seen by Staff here, so you don't have to worry about being seen as a "snitch".
It may sound like a stuck record but the key word to remember is "respect" because the mood in this forum needs to change for the better.
Thank You,
The FAN Staff
