Ok so I'm leafing through an old WWF magazine (Don't ask) and I come across a Ross Report where J.R says a sentence on a few O.V.W wrestlers who are going to be big in the WWF in the future:
The mag is dated SEPTEMBER 2001:
Brock Lesnar: Amazing athlete at 6'3", 260 lbs. NCAA National Champ. Can make it in time (WWE Debut: April 2002)
Shelton Benjamin: Perhaps the best athlete in the program. (WWE debut: Late 2002)
Steve Bradley: Has the physical skills (WWE debut: Don't think he did)
Scott Vick (Katie's brother?): Excellant look, athletic. Must work on charisma. (WWE debut: Don't think he did)
Randy Orton: Third-generation natural. Needs time. (WWE debut: Mid 2002)
Prototype (what John Cena went by in OVW): UPW-trained. Remins me of Sting. (Yes it said that) (WWE debut: Mid 2002)
Island Boys: Natural Samoan timing and athletic ability. Must not get too heavy. (hah!) (WWE debut: 2002 as 3MW)
Dave Bautista: Main- Event aura. Six months to a year away (from debut) (WWE debut: mid 2002)
Victoria: Works too hard not to get a chance (WWE debut: 2002)
Mark Henry (he was back in OVW at the time): Lost over 90 lbs. Re-dedicated (WWE re-debut: Just after 1st draft lottery, 2002)
Lance Cade: Barry Windham-like. Maybe a year (WWE debut: 2003 (not sure))
Haas Bros.: Oklahoma-born, Seton Hall-educated. They remind me of the great Brisco Brothers tag team. (WWE debut: Only Charlie in late 2002)
Ross also mentions Nathan Jones and Jon Heidenreich in passing.
Just thought y'all be interested in seeing that.

Wow. Lance Cade's been down there a long time, and hasn't gotten much of a chance.
Steve Bradley trained with Kurt Angle and was his first rival in wrestling. Scott Vick was Sick Boy in WCW as part of the Flock. Very interesting read though, and is interesting to see a lot of these wrestlers on Tv.

Reminds him of Sting? That BBQ sauce must be getting to his head

Well, I kinda see what JR means. Both of them are muscular, have a manly chin and Cena used to have bleached hair. I say, drop the rap-gimmick and give him face paint. ....unless of course JR is talking about wrestling and not looks.

What happened to Steve Bradley and Scott Vick?
Sadly, Russ Haas passed away before he got the chance to debut. Russ died just 3 months after this report. (December 15)
Fact of the day: Since Russ's death, Charlie writes "RUSS" on his wrist tape before every match in tribute to Russ.

Wow, great find! JR was pretty good with a few of those predictions, like calling Batista a future main eventer.

Wow, great find! JR was pretty good with a few of those predictions, like calling Batista a future main eventer. He also called Orton a future main eventer. And it did indeed happen on at least one card, so even if it was only once, he called it right. And of course, he also called Lesnar a great future prospect. For the year and a half to two years that he was there, JR was right about him too.

Apparently he had heart problems all his life, and it all finally caught up to him.
