Admiral Ackbar
Not only did he command in a dangerous mission he also shows remorse for his own troops when they die. You can see it when when they take down the super star destroyer. Everybody cheers but Ackbar shows silent mourning over the pilot who had to give his life for that to happen.

The Gala incident knocks her down a few pegs, I think.

Aslan is the clear winner. (does that count as religious? I don't think so...) Considering he's Jesus... I'd say so. I second, or third, Atticus Finch

The Gala incident knocks her down a few pegs, I think. That was more frustration than being evil.

A slightly obscure one would be Zhao Yun as presented in the Dynasty Warriors games. The dude is incorruptable pure pureness incarnate.

Samwise Gamgee
He managed to resist been corrupted by The Ring and every action he took was to help his best friend suceed. Even to the point of fighting of a giant spider and storming a tower full of Orcs by himself to rescue Frodo (Granted, most of them had killed each other but still, Sam didn't know that.)

atticus finch, attorney at law? Yeah, pretty much this, forever and all time. He IS the personification of goodness. He was my f***ing HERO in high school (partly because I didn't have a dad, and partly because...well, I mean, come on, you read the book, right?). Also, due to the title of the thread:

Atom/Astro Boy, Ramza from Final Fantasy Tactics, Yotsuba from Yotsuba&!, and Sir Galahad are contenders.

Rocky Balboa.
The man must have the patience of a saint. NO ONE else would have put up with Paulie's drunken shenanigans for as many years as he has!

Dr. Zoidberg. I mean, even Robot Santa Claus gave him a gift and he finds everyone naughty.

Captain Carrot Ironfoundersson from the Discworld Guard novels. Simple, NOT stupid, and incredibly clever at policework, and good to a fault. Vimes as well, in my opinion.
