Obama doesn't really need worrying about. He's got the SS and no way are the paps messing with them. I feel bad a lot of celebrities who don't have this level of protection and getting chased around eveywhere. Britney Spears has famously had her share of Diana like near misses.

We have this perverted celebrity-stalker culture in which people pry on the private lives of celebrities and want every little bit of gossip available. We build these people up just so we can tear them apart when they make the same human errors that we do.
So while that still exists, nothing will change, and the paparazzi will still always have an audience. Not to mention, as previously stated, some celebrities live and die by being photographed by paparazzi who have been tipped on where they are.

But yeah, in America, I think they're protected by the first amendment, so I don't think anything can be done in the US. freedom of the press i suppose, but does it not strike you as odd that under the guise of being a "professional photographer", you are legally allowed to sneak around and take voyeuristic pictures of people who are in movies (and otherwise)? if i took my canon and waited outside the house of lindsay lohan, surely i would be arrested, no?

As long as you stayed on public property and didn't physically or verbally threaten her or her safety, then most likely not.

I never said I was ok with it, it's just that stalking laws only come into effect if that person has made an attempt to harm you or threaten you.

Sigh...to those people that keep bringing up the Constitution...here's how it works.
These only apply to government intervention/censorship against individuals. A government entity cannot violate those freedoms of an individual listed in the Constitution.
