Oh, and while I do understand people's issues regarding Bella being a poor role model and Edward's often stalkerish behavior, I'm disturbed by the obsessive level of rage against Twilight that some people hold. Not to mention that a lot of its hatedom is an offshoot of the aformentioned "boy band backlash" in a sense. It's one thing to criticize their acting ability, but the snide and often borderline homophobic comments I hear about Pattinson and Lautner because of how they look in the movies make my brain bleed. I've seen people comment that vampires aren't about romance and love but I'm sure Dracula had those themes in it and Dracula himself was a stalker.

I think part of the "romantic" complaints against the Twilight series is that traditional Vampire lore basically grew from Vampirism being, well, an expy for rape. Being bitten by a vampire was meant to be akin to be sexually violated. This interpretation is very much apparent in Bram Stroker's Dracula. Fast forward a century and change and we get Twilight attempting to glamorize vampires and saying they're not such bad guys and girls falling in love with vampires, etc. etc. In a way, you're saying "rape, what's the big deal?".

Kourtney Kardashian.
I would say Kim and Khloe but I dislike them. I don't know why.

Justin Bieber. Now I'm not a fan of his, but I got to give the kid his due. Posted a video on youtube, got a record deal, making a lot of money, and he is dating Selena Gomez. But by God you can't go to any music video without seeing this comment "This is music. None of that Bieber crap." It could be a man beating a trash can with a dead cat and they will still say it's better the Bieber. Agreed. He's a teen boy who sings about girls. It's not worth spamming a Smashing Pumpkins video and talking about him like he's the antichrist of music or something.

So...if a girl vampire bites me...in a way she just raped me? Possibly, though it wasn't just an allegory for rape, as much as it was sexual in general. Carmilla, for example, came before Dracula and it was a pretty thin disguise for a story about lesbianism. In fact, it was pretty much a GENRE, lesbian vampire stories.

I agree about Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber. I don't listen to them, but why the Nickleback hate? They must have done something right to lasted as long as they have. Do they suck that bad? Count me in for some reality shows, though I understand why they should be avoided. I've always thought Nickelback was hated because 95% of their songs sound damn near identical. If you like them, then that's fantastic. If you don't.....well, you're really gonna hate them.

Any woman who has done movies/tv shows/blogs, etc. and gotten a nerdy fanbase. Be it Felicia Day, Veronica Belmont, Olivia Munn, Alison Haislip, Jessica Chobot, or Morgan Webb.
For years I've heard that these girls aren't this, they aren't that, they're not "geeky enough", they're not really gamers, blah, blah, blah.
I just think it's a lot of nitpicking and fanboy bitching.
Just let these women be, and if you're a fan of them, great, keep supporting them. If not, don't lose your sh*t when someone brings them up.

I feel they're both bands that if you like one or two of their songs, you're very likely to enjoy their entire catalog(more so than other groups), whereas if you dislike them, you're very unlikely to like any one of their songs. They both do what they do pretty well, but it's pretty narrow in scope what they do.

While I'm at it: Post-"Warning" Green Day. I can't go into too many details, but nobody knows for certain what was going on in their heads, or if they were just being opportunistic when they were writing American Idiot. It's more likely they were really that pissed off.

Some people just don't like the Beatles.
Wayne Campbell quote - "The Beatles didn't make music everybody liked."
I don't think the Beatles ever intended to be liked by everyone. I think it's a love or hate deal with what is the most famous music group ever. I think when you are what's considered the greatest you're gonna get critisicm by music fans alot times of other groups. That comes up alot.

Some people just don't like the Beatles. There are two kinds of people. Those that like The Beatles, and those that are wrong.

~ Genuinely enjoying something- It seems like the only way certain things can be enjoyed is "ironically"or because it's not "Mainstream", or worse because it was promoted by someone else. I just don't understand why it's so unfathomable to be sincere in your likes and dislikes. This I 100% agree with. Thank you.

Russell Brand. He's funny and he can sing. I think everyone's jealous because of Katy Perry Russell Brand and Katy Perry are my wife's and my "allowed to swing with" couple. If, by some one-in-a-million chance, they are swingers - even though we would wholly disapprove of swinging with any other couple - we would allow it with Russell Brand and Katy Perry, simply because it's f***in' Russell Brand. (who my wife says is "dirty sexy") and Katy Perry (who I've said before is "everything sexy.") So yeah, try as I might, I can't hate the dude; I am, however, insanely jealous of the fact that he can bang Katy Perry pretty much whenever he wants to. Lousy bastard....

Regarding all of these Justin Bieber and current pop acts hate, I loathe those YouTube chain comments about "You say (current artist) I say (Which ever artist of a particular genre)" and at the bottom, it says 97% of people don't listen to 'real' music. Please, who started that stupid trend? I despise those comments.

Russell Brand. He's funny and he can sing. I think everyone's jealous because of Katy Perry Sorry, but I hated the talentless twat long before Katy Perry even hit it big, let alone hooked up with him. Of course we over here have had to put up with him for years before you American peeps "discovered" him.

Snooki/Jersey Shore/Kardashians. No one is forcing you to watch these shows. Are they stupid? Probably. I don't watch so I couldn't say for sure, but I do know that if you feel the need to rant about these people/shows for no real reason then that's just weird. It's even weirder if you're watching the shows and then ranting about them. I'm from New Jersey. I have every reason to hate the poseurs from Jersey Shore because they drag my state's name through the mud (moreso) and those f***ers aren't even from New Jersey. Most of them are benny trash.
