Very talented guy. I'm curious, does anyone know why he was saddled with the Flash Funk gimmick when he went to the 'E? It seems like if they had him doing the same sorta stuff as he was doing as Scorpio he would've easily gotten over. I think it was a case of debuting at the wrong time. If he would've came in late '97, early '98, I think he could've been an upper mid card star. Throw him in with Rock, HHH, Shamrock, Owen...there could've been some great IC title matches. However, since he debuted in late 1996...WWF was still in transition, with programming highly geared towards children. Once they pushed the Attitude Era, I think no one would take him seriously...

Yet, The Godfather was sort of similar to his Flash Funk gimmick in that he had woman accompany him to the ring and dressed like a pimp.

Wonder what it would've been like had they just upped Funk's character to be like Godfather's?

^^^ wow I never thought of that. The Godfather did have the charisma to pull the gimmick off, but Scorpio may have done just as well in the character depatment. It's his ability to wrestle and pull of his great arsenal of moves that may have pushed oevr the top.
I hate how he ended up in WWF. I've been a fan of his since he flipped into all of our hearts in WCW.
Like a gulf war missle, he'll attack from the air.

I always kinda hoped that Scorpio and Al Snow would bring tag team gold to the J.O.B. Squad,, but alas, they never did. I always marked for 2 Cold, though. Incredible talent. Wasn't there talk of him signing with WWE a few years ago? I seem to remember hearing about him being in developmental, where he was "about to be called up to the ECW brand," but I never saw him on TV. Am I delusional, or was that an actual thing? He was signed in 2006 and was going to be used on the ECW brand. Then they decided to wait and were going to start using him on SmackDown instead. He worked in Deep South for a few months doing the Flash Funk character. I know he did a lot of SmackDown house shows and I'm pretty sure they took him on a European tour and he was wrestling Gregory Helms as Flash Funk. But they never debuted him on TV and eventually just released him. Search "Flash Funk makes his DSW Debut" on youtube and you can see the first match he did in Deep South in 2006.
