Very talented guy. I'm curious, does anyone know why he was saddled with the Flash Funk gimmick when he went to the 'E? It seems like if they had him doing the same sorta stuff as he was doing as Scorpio he would've easily gotten over.

Didn't they have him be Terry Funk's protege after they scrapped the Flash Funk character? I guess he was only called Scorpio for a little bit and was briefly with Terry Funk because Terry Funk left the WWF in July 1998.

Loved when he was '2 Gold' Scorpio. And he was hella awesome in WCW. 'Scoprio and The Bagman' as Jessie would say were a great tag team

2 Cold Scorpio was bad ass. I remember when he first made his WCW debut. Ron Simmons was suppose to team up with "Hard Work" Bobby Walker against Cactus Jack, the Barbarian, and Tony Atlas at a Clash of the Champions. Bobby Walker didn't show for the match and 2Cold took his place. Out came to the ring a guy with a flat top and ripped tights. I was like "who's this chump?". But quickly into the match he did a springboard plancha and just took it over. And when he hit Tony Atlas with the 450 splash, I literally lost it. I never seen that move before. It was so damn amazing. WCW replayed the finisher about 8 times from multiple angles and each time it was more awesome.

I just want to add that 2 Cold Scorpio is as great in the ring as anybody, and this comes from a wrestling fan who has watched the product on and off (mostly on) since '85. UWF circa 1986 appreciates!

I always kinda hoped that Scorpio and Al Snow would bring tag team gold to the J.O.B. Squad,, but alas, they never did.
I always marked for 2 Cold, though. Incredible talent. Wasn't there talk of him signing with WWE a few years ago? I seem to remember hearing about him being in developmental, where he was "about to be called up to the ECW brand," but I never saw him on TV. Am I delusional, or was that an actual thing?

I remember hearing that too and was disappointed that nothing ever came of that. I would've loved to see him on TV regularly again and judging by that gif from the TNA PPV up there, the guy can still go. I always loved his stuff because he obviously was doing stuff that cruiserweights were doing, but with his mass, it actually looked like it could do damage.

The Tumbleweed is a move that i still mark out for every time. Unless no one can pull them off, I'm shocked that no one ever in WWE or WCW ever ripped off the Tumbleweed or the even more awesome Dropping the Bomb, his moonsault into a legdrop. Those moves were amazing. His ECW run in 1995/6 is one of the more overlooked stays of anyone during the heyday of that company. A number of great TV Title matches with Guerrero, Jericho, Sabu and others, the incredible "2 Gold" Scorpio gimmick and his so-random-it's-awesome tag team with The Sandman that gave us DANCING SANDMAN. Love Scorpio. Bonus Fact: Apparently, he also has one of the largest penises in wrestling history.

The guy's one of THE great performers in my mind. He's up there on the list of wrestlers I wouldn't mind bumping into some day.

One of the best matches I ever saw live was Flash Funk vs. Owen Hart in 1997. I love Scorpio, and the dude can still go.

I always loved his stuff because he obviously was doing stuff that cruiserweights were doing, but with his mass, it actually looked like it could do damage. I always loved his moonsault for that reason. Not only did he execute it perfectly, but he landed it and came DOWN on the guy, not just sort of grazed his chest as he overshot him.

2 Cold Scorpio's fantastic. Never really got the kind of push he deserved in a bigger company, in my opinion.
