As long as Raven's involved, I'm all for it.

Apparently Raven's gonna be the Booker, according to his recent YouTube blog. Well, I cannot hate that idea. Which also means that the jacket makers out there are about to get a bump up in sales. ;D Also, I think it's a lock that Shelly's returning to wrestling!

Honestly, I don't see this being run as anything but a hobby fed, like JCW but that's not a bad thing. You have a guy involved who loves wrestling, who knows how to promote himself and things he's involved with, who has a loyal fanbase, crazy overrated or not... If this works out anything like the INSane Clown Posse stuff, I'm all for it. I can't stand the ICP, I can't stand Juggalos, I can't stand the Smashing Pumpkins either, however one more place where workers are guaranteed a good payday and work in an enjoyable environment can only be a good thing... And with Raven booking we may get a few good feuds and matches out of it to boot.

He's alienated his band mates to the extent they'd rather be in no namer bands (or in one case, a crack head) instead of being in Smashing Pumpkins, he's still carrying a grudge against Pavement for something that happened in 1995 that wasn't that big of a deal to begin with, he's the on again/off again boyfriend of Courteny Love (who's a piece of work herself), he thinks Tila Tequila is the second coming of the jazz greats, his Twitter is filled with conspiracy theories, he's in his mid 40-s and named an album "Teargarden By Kaliedyscope", and most recently he went on a hate filled tirade against guitar pedal maker Devi Ever, a transsexual, and said all the things you don't say if you don't want to be slapped with a hate crime charge. And that's only off the top of my head. He's been doing awful things for decades. Despite all his rage, he's still just a rat in a cage.

Billy Corgan... maybe he doesn't suck at promotion as much as he sucks at making music. Smashing Pumpkins are definitely among the most overrated bands of the 80s... and their more recent shows are proving that. they used to be brilliant but these days they suck ass

Then he went on to trash Cleveland in an interview, saying we're all stupid and fat and our women are ugly. I'm failing to see the issue here.

Smashing Pumpkins are definitely among the most overrated bands of the 80s... and their more recent shows are proving that. Um, the first Smashing Pumpkins record was released in 91. And if you meant to put 90s and you think they were overrated then I seriously have reservations about your knowledge of music. As a music fan in the 90s, I can testify firsthand that the Pumpkins were absolutely huge at the time. I mean "Tonight Tonight" actually won Video of the Year at the MTV Awards in 1996. I understand that's a meaningless award, but when you consider that the last few winners have been Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Beyonce, it shows you how big the Pumpkins were at the time. After the death of Kurt Cobain, the Pumpkins, Pearl Jam and Green Day really did inherit the rock and roll throne for a few years there. Nowadays rock and roll is dead as far as the mainstream is concerned and I think that alters people's perceptions of how massive these bands were at the time. "Today", "Bullet With Butterfly Wings", "1979" and "Tonight Tonight" were all hugely popular songs. And I'm know things can be successful and overrated at the same time, but I don't feel like the Pumpkins were overrated. Granted anything they did after 1997 was pretty awful, but at their peak they were successful, influential and wrote some really solid tunes.

Gish, Siamese Dream, and Mellon Collie are untouchable. Those are three records in a row that set the bar with each consecutive release. They might seem overrated now but at the time the Pumpkins could write their own ticket. HOWEVER!!!! Adore and Machina albums were mediocre, his solo album was lame, and I have no idea what the hell Zwan was. Zeitgeist was a huge disappointment and I can't think of a single person who gives two hoots about Teargarden By Kaleidyscope. By this point the scale is leaning heavily toward the crap side. Between that and his self inflicted public shamings I totally get why somebody would not see the big deal about Corgan.

Wait a second. Rich guy with the money to bring in talent gives Raven the book. Am I the only one excited about this? Yeah quite frankly this sounds like sex on toast as a concept, let's see how it pans out. Agreed. I'm certainly excited about Raven booking.

Actually, I'm a fan of everything he's done besides the solo album, but this promotion feels like a bad idea. He's never been shy about being a wrestling fan so I guess I'll just wait and see how this pans out.

Bah, my My Bloody Valentine post got no sold . I just love the idea that Billy Corgan and Raven know each other and are probably good friends. I wonder what wacky adventures they'll get into?

"Honestly" by Zwan was great, and "Tarantula" is one of my favorite SP songs.

I don't care who is footing the bill for this. Give me some quality, captivating wrestling and storylines and I'm in.

I like Billy Corgan, and love Raven, but I'll have to know more before I really can say if this would be a good idea or not.

Big Corgan/SP fan and Raven is my all-time favorite so I'm stoked for this.
Also, I've really enjoyed Teargarden by Kaleidoscope. Really good songs in my opinion and some of his best work since Adore.
Also, the Zwan album rocked and is severely under-rated. Thought Zeitgeist was a decent album as well.
I think Billy is simply making music for his fans now and really isn't trying to go mainstream anymore and doesn't care about having another top hit. I've really dug his new work.

Smashing Pumpkins played in Cleveland last year, and it was a decent show but Corgan was a prick. He got mad at fans for wanting to hear old Smashing Pumpkins songs. At a Smashing Pumpkins concert. Then he went on to trash Cleveland in an interview, saying we're all stupid and fat and our women are ugly. So yeah f*** that guy. Maybe he was laying the groundwork for "Mr Corgan", an evil heel wrestling promoter.
