I was browsing through thehistoryofwwe.com and happened upon this bit of info. At a house show on January 13th 2012, Daniel Bryan squashed Jamie Noble. I looked it up and it was Noble's first match since his 2009 retirement. How the hell did I not know about this?
Does anyone know the purpose of that? Wrestlers don't usually come out of retirement to get squashed on a house show.
Edit: I found footage of it, but not the whole match. Noble wore his old jean shorts attire. And it wasn't a squash, it actually looked like a good match with Noble getting lots of near wins.

Noble's an agent, so if I had to guess, who ever was scheduled to be squashed probably had food poisoning or was similarly incapacitated, so Noble would be an easy fill-in.
Wonder whose gear he borrowed, since A. I don't figure the agents bring their gear with them especially if they're 'retired', and B. there aren't too many guys on the roster whose gear would fit Jamie anyway.

I remember reading about it when it happened and thought it was cool. I didn't expect it to be a ROH clash or anything, but was disappointed it was a squash.

Wasn't it because they were in his hometown? They probably had it planned.

It was the week he got AJ run over by Big Show, so he was already 75% a heel (despite being in a tag match with Punk the following Monday).

I'm wondering how Noble's injuries are doing. I think since Cena has the monopoly on the jorts so I'm not sure if Noble can do that.
I'd love to see Noble back in the ring full time. Very underrated. Plus I was looking up things on him. Noble, despite having a short reign as Champion, has more defenses then some guys with reigns much longer.

Jamie Noble was my favorite cruiserweight champion. He just always had great title matches. I wish his more recent run had been like that.

Was there a "KILL HIM SOME MORE? YES YES YES. KILL HIM SOME MORE? YES YES YES!" Chant? Because that would be awesome.
