Just re-watched it on FX. Bad ass. The ending was weird in that they should have just left it after the airport. When did they start making Liam Neeson an action

He's done his fair share of action roles over the years.
It;s just that he did two so close together with Taken & Unknown (Both are badass)

As Bill Maher said
From now on, all of Liam Neeson's movies need to be called, "I'm going to hunt you down and kill you."

it's a pretty kickass movie, even if it is a little absurd. I mean, he basically has superpowers for crying out loud. It was good regardless, though Unknown was pointless and dumb and terrible, which is why I'm on the fence about seeing The Grey.

Liked this film.
Heard about the sequel though, sounds rubbish.... In Taken 2 (They will probably have some terrible pun like 'Taken 2 The Danger Zone') it's Liam Neeson and Jean Grey that is kidnapped and Maggie Grace has to go rescue them..... NO! It has to have Neeson being a bad ass. That is the appeal.

A movie so badass it makes me want to retroactively change Episode 1 into a movie about Qui-Gonn Jin hunting down Sith.
*After the Trade Federation kidnaps the Queen* Qui-Gon: I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have enough Republic credits. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long way of lie. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let her go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will defeat you. Darth Maul: Good luck... Jedi.

Badass is the only thing I can think of to describe this film.
I hate by the book action films. I feel they are so formulaic. when I heard about this and saw the ads I just said "Ok. Commando, with a much older guy". Don't get me wrong I like Liam Neeson, but I just didn't care.
Then it just happened to be on cable one night and I gave it a shot.
Glad I did.

For years I've heard people talking about how good Taken was and I always thought they were talking about that Spielberg mini-series that came out like 10 years ago, which confused me to no end.
Saw the movie Taken for the first time last week and yes it was pretty bad-ass.

Look up the review for this movie on Spill. It's one of my favorites.
I think he's become what I've heard Harrison Ford described as when he was in Air Force One, and that was the thinking man's action hero.

I love how the beginning sucks and it seems like a typical girls get kidknapped for doing bad things movie, then Liam Neeson kills everybody.

I can't remember the last time an action movie was so wholly satisfying.

Loved this movie when I first saw it. I'll definitely tune in whenever it's on TV.

The Grey is far from Taken or even an action flick

I love how absurd it is.
The first bit of the movie is Liam Neeson not wanting his teenage daughter to go to Paris alone (well without any of her parents or guardians) because he is afraid something will happen to her. So he relents, she goes to Paris and the first thing that happens when she gets to Paris, she is targeted by a sex slave crime syndicate and later kidnapped.
What did we learn: Pretty young women should not got to Paris.... EVER!
