My Grandma bought one for her house too. Once she figured out it was a bunch of Tetris clones and all us kids were done with it about the third or forth time we played it (a lot of that having to do with me ramping high scores through the roof and resulting in someone hitting reset), she shelled out for a Game Boy Color and Link's Awakening DX. It came in handy when she got SMB Deluxe so we could do the link cable stuff. Sounds like you had a cool grandma, ha.

lol I totally had one of these and got it for my birthday because my mom knew i was crazy about my gameboy...At first i was like omg look at all these games...10 minutes later I was furious and felt like my mom did it as a joke...The only games I could play for like 2 minutes was the damn games where you try to avoid stuff...

Ugh, they had other variations of this commercial, and whenever my brother and I saw one of them we'd borderline scream at the TV when they'd throw away a copy of Super Punch-Out!!

Surprisingly, "Shooting Attack" was actually a very in depth RPG

My aunt bought me one of these when I was kid. Of the "200 games" I played the Breakout rip off and that was basically it. I'd only have the system around when my aunt came to visit. Mostly because my mom made out of respect. The rest of the time, it collected dust in my desk drawer.

It came in handy when she got SMB Deluxe so we could do the link cable stuff. Sounds like you had a cool grandma, ha. Oh yeah. She always had to babysit either me and my brother or my cousin (or all three of us). She had one TV with an OLD satellite dish hooked up to it (one of those that could only get 15 or so channels at a time then needed to be repositioned) and she had that thing for years and years. So we all got bored pretty quick over there. She always had little blackjack games and things like that, but they got old fast. She would just tell us to go outside, but then in the Winter we were just plain screwed. She invested in this thing and it helped a little, but as I said it was just okay for a little bit then we got somewhat sick of it (plus somebody took a knee to the screen and busted it up). So she said she was going to get an old Game Boy and some old games and just use that. Turned out "old Game Boy" and some old games" meant a Game Boy Color (within a month of it first launching) and Link's Awakening DX. She eventually added SMB Deluxe and then when me and Ethan would bring ours all the time to play Pokemon, got a copy of Pokemon Yellow for my cousin. I think the last one was Tony Hawk 3...not so good... She's still around, but doesn't need to babysit anyone anymore. She did update the satellite TV eventually and has wi-fi but thats for my cousin's online GED/college courses (which I'm not sure he's doing on that thing but...)

Yep, throw away your expensive video games in the trash. It's not like you could sell them for money or anything. ;D
In all seriousness, my dad bought 2 of these(for cheap, of course). They were pretty 'meh'.

This commercial hurts my heart. Reminds me of my friend who got a fake iPod nano from his aunt.

If I would have got this for Christmas over my Sega Genesis, I would still be in prison right now for the crimes I would have committed on whomever bestowed this abomination on me.
