Apples to Apples.
The very first time I played, they picked a random green card and random red card to show me what the game was all about.
They were "Hilarious Challenger Explosion".
That more or less set the tone for how most of the games I play of it turn out.

I doubt anyone knows the game, but the game I remember playing in simpler times involved combined themes of train tracks and peanuts.

Risk all day , everyday. The sheer level of anger that game can bring out is indescribable still to this day. Then never, ever play Diplomacy. Risk is fun, but I'm more of an Axis & Allies guy. If we're talking cards, then Munchkin all the way. Munchkin in a Blender (combining Munchkin games) is even more fun. If we're talking RPGs, I prefer the HERO System, but I also love Risus and FUDGE.

Hanging with friends and playing Sorry! is still fun as hell.
I used to play board games with my family, but last time I played Clue with them, we ended up getting in an argument and quitting. My little brother made an accusation and was wrong, so instead of just looking at the cards and putting them back in the envelope, he threw them in frustration, revealing the clues to all of us.
So yeah, my family and board games don't really mix. Don't even get me started on the Monopoly wars that have gone on in this house...

Settlers of Catan is my go-to board game and has been since my roommates and I in college made our own board out of pizza boxes and bottle caps (which replaced the much grosser Sharpie'd pistachio shells)
Love it. Play the hell out of the X-Box/PS3 versions too, though the PS3 one is all sorts of f***ed up (TWO 11's next to each other? WTF?!)
Tried to play online too, but there was literally no one else on earth playing it.

Double Trouble (That's right, right? You know, the one with the dice in the middle and you push the bubble down) I always knew it as "Pop-o-matic Trouble", which is one I came in here to post. But I could just be showing how old I am by not knowing a new name. I like that one, Boggle and Sorry! I LOVE Clue and Sweet Valley High: The Board Game. My two faves. I'd probably love my Scene It games (I have TV and Music) more, but no one wants to play with me because my brain is too full with useless information for them to want to bother

I'm fond of Clue, Chess, Life, Scrabble, and Trivial Pursuit. As far as strategy board games go, old school Diplomacy is pretty fun, also pretty brutal. I used to play one called Napoleon 1813 or something that was really good.
There was another one I played that was based on Axis and Allies, but different scale than A&A. Not sure what it was called. It was also focused completely on the European side of things.
If Pen and Paper games count, then I love D&D 3.5, Star Wars Saga Edition, Pathfinder, and Stuperpowers.
