So what games will we get to watch via stream if we aren't lucky enough to attend live? Well...• Street Fighter X Tekken • Super Street Fighter IV (Arcade Edition, Version 2012) • Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 • Soul Calibur 5 • King of Fighters XIII • Mortal Kombat (2011) Sucks to see no BlazBlue this year. Also, pretty ballsy to put Soul Calibur 5 and Street Fighter X Tekken on the list before they even come out. Are they even sure those games will be balanced right? Plus, didn't SC5's development team flat out admit they didn't care about the pro-fighting game tournament scene while they were developing the game? Still MK9, KoF13, UMvC3, and SSF4:AE will more than make the event worth watching.

The Evo organizers have had hands on with both SC5 and SFxT builds, so I have no doubt they'll be ready to rock. I still would've liked to see Skullgirls make the cut instead of SFxT, but for variety's sake as opposed to the whole OMGSCREWGEMS fever that's sweeping the land.

Over/under on Skullgirls being the most popular side tournament at EVO? Also, I don't get why people are complaining about the gem system of SFxT, as you can, you know, not use it. It isn't a mandatory thing like the X-Factor in MvC3.

Over/under on Skullgirls being the most popular side tournament at EVO? I'd bet $8.95 on it. That was a terrible joke and I apologize for it.

I think the Gems uproar came from some sort of announcement (or maybe just a rumor) that gems were mandatory - as in, you couldn't not use them. If that's the case, I wish them all the luck in the world getting that ready to go by summer.

The game is shaping up to be a lot better than I thought it'd be. SSF4 AE 2012 and UMVC3 are no brainers, as is MK. Happy that KOF13 is getting repped. Also happy that BlazBlue isn't repped. Skullgirls is going to get a lot of side/casual play, I think. Along with the usual suspects (3S, SFA3, Mahvel 2, ST, etc.).

Seth Killian himself said the gems were optional, and that you could choose no gems at all when you select your character. Considering he's the community manager for Capcom, I don't think it would be in his best interests to lie to the public.

The last update I saw, there is no non-gem mode, but you don't have to equip any gems... which means you can play without them. I hope that gems ARE used at Evo, otherwise it's pretty much SF4 with Tekken characters.
