So I called in an order to Pizza Hut earlier, just like every Friday. Hell, I got the number memorized by heart. The phone rang a good 5 or 6 times before I was greeted with a recording and prompted to press 1 to place an order. Then I had to listen to a recording telling me that I can order online at PizzaHut.com and blah blah blah. Finally, someone answers the phone and it's a foreign sounding woman.
She gets my information and asks if it will be carryout, dine in, or delivery. I tell her carryout, so she then (as slowly as humanly possible mind you) reads off the store address and confirms that it's the right store. I say yes, then proceed to order. 1 large meatlovers on pan crust, and 1 large supreme handtossed. She's saying stuff like "ok...let's see..." and it's clear to me that she's trying to figure out how to put my order in. She then reads off all the toppings (still inhumanly slow) and I tell her "Yes, I want everything that those specialties come with". She puts me on hold, then comes back a couple of minutes later and confirms everything again. Reads off the address of the store, the toppings for the pizzas, specifically asked if I wanted ham for some reason, and asked how I'd be paying. I tell her cash, and she asks if I want to add another pizza to my order or buy a drink. I finally said "The order's complete! That's all I want!". She tells me the total, gives me no idea of how long it's going to take, and tells me bye.
It took over 7 minutes to order 2 freaking pizzas. The sad thing is that I was actually on the phone with that lady for most of that time. I get that they want people to order over the internet, but they're seriously going to lose a lot of their older crowd this way.
