The final scene from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Care to elaborate? I was a HUGE fan as a kid and I don't remember the ending. {Spoiler}After the Rangers get back to their adult forms and reform the Zeo Crystal, Goldar and Rito steal it, and a bomb blows up. MMPR ends with the Command Center blowing up.
It gets better next season though until Turbo. As for the thread topic, here's one: The last episode of Blackadder Goes Fourth (or Blackadder Season 4). That was a kinda shocking ending for a comedy series.

I think 'that character' got cast because he was a stage hand/assistant on the pilot, Lynch cast him as the 'evil that men do'. I wish I could get a job that easily. I'm creepy and weird at the best of times.

Power Rangers Turbo, as awful as it was at some points, also had a shocking ending. {Spoiler}Turbo's ending makes MMPR's ending look quite happy in comparison. In it, we see the big bad utterly defeat the Rangers, also annihilating the Power Chamber with it too.

The episode of All in the Family where the Bunkers get a swastika painted on their door. For the final couple minutes. Blew. My. Mind.

There were a few such moments from "All In The Family." Definitely. I'd say though the whole episode with Edith and the rapist was pretty shocking stuff for TV at that era.

How about when Caitlin Todd died on NCIS? The episode seemed to conclude with just another happy ending with Gibbs, Todd, and Tony trading quips on a job well done. Tony said something that Gibbs agreed with and said that for once he was right. Cate says, "Wow. I thought I would die before I heard" BLAM!! Sniper shot to the forehead! For that matter, Gary Dourdan left CSI with another out-of-left-field execution. Well there's a real world reason for that CSI example... Dourdan was arrested on all sorts of drug charges and they wanted to write him out quick.

One episode of The Practice ended with a bomb going off in the office. Can't remember all the details now, but it was kinda out of nowhere.

Dr. Romano getting his arm cut off by the helicopter blade on ER was an oh crap moment for me. Not of the same magnitude but Mark Harmon's secret service agent character getting killed off so abruptly on the West Wing was pretty shocking too.

The shootout on Grey's Anatomy had some shocking moments...in fact the whole shootout at the hospital was a shocking moment.

One episode of The Practice ended with a bomb going off in the office. Can't remember all the details now, but it was kinda out of nowhere. There was one where a DA got machine gunned to death in the parking garage after successfully prosecuting a drug lord. That one really shocked me. Still makes me shudder, honestly. Supernatural still shocks me on a daily basis on how much blood and gore they can get away with on a national TV show...on the CW nonetheless. Case and point, last episode saw somebody getting stabbed through the chest...by a unicorn. Not to mention the countless decapitations and zombie headshots with shotguns. For me, the most cringeworthy and shocking one is still the (appropriately enough for today) My Bloody Valentine opening sequence. It's so gross, I can't watch it. Supernatural: {Spoiler}Idjits..... {Spoiler}

The "Woodland Critter Christmas" episode of South Park. In a show that's designed to shock you whenever possible it kinda loses its effect after 8 seasons. I never really thought anything could top the ending of "Scott Tenorman Must Die". But I can honestly say I was genuinely shocked and surprised when the blood orgy broke out. Never in a million years would I have guessed that that was the direction that episode was going.

Alas, Tenorman's "twist ending" on South Park was it for me. I was a fan of the show from that point forward. It was so genius (well, for me as a young teenager at least) that I was pretty much indebted to the show from that point forward.

I would have to say the Sopranos had quite a few. Especially in the last few seasons. {Spoiler}Tony Killing Chris-For the entire series Chris had been groomed to be Tony's replacement. Him getting killed was not the surprise, the surprise was that Tony himself would wind up killing him
The final scene-IMO the final scene we get to see Tony die from his perspective which is we go from hearing and seeing things to nothing.

The last scene in the premiere episode of The Shield really threw me for a loop. I never expected that at all. When I heard Vic Mackey was a bad cop I thought something along the lines of Andy from NYPD Blue. Not this.
It hooked me on the show instantly.
