I've just noticed that they've changed the stars that go under the main poster title. They look a lot nicer than before.

Ever think about changing the ranking names? Considering that the current ones are still sorta wrestlecrappy.

Ok due to Citten pointing out to me that there's no eye blistering light background/dark text alternative, White Nights is now live. That'll be the last skin before I do the one based on the mainsite (still pretty far away).
So ya, thanks to Citten for requesting it.

White Nights is actually pretty good. It makes a lot of the colored names stand out better.

F.A.N sucks.
N.A.F is better.

Obviously, we'll have to wait until the next writers drive, but I want to know if there is any interest in the type of column I'm going to be writing this summer(either for F.A.N., a different website, or my own website), or if it would even fit in with the aim of the main site:
So basically, I'm going to put my Film Studies minor to work, and write columns that are sort of a hybrid between critical film essays(which tend to not even discuss film quality) and film reviews(which I feel can harp on minor issues without even addressing the major social themes). Basically, it'd be in 3 sections(excluding the intros and the conclusion), one section discussing what we see(basically talk about the plot, acting, etc), how we see it(talk about film aesthetic and cinematography) and then the final section will usually be about the social messages/impact of the film, but I may switch it up and break down a particularly unique and important scene, or breakdown the main character(s) or something else.
They're going to be bigger pieces(1000-1750 words, depending on the film), and I also will write other columns not focusing on breaking down one single film(I may do a biographical piece on an actor or director, or write a detailed description of film terms, talk about a particular director's body of work(rather than his/her personal life, as in a biographical piece), or maybe something completely different.
So I guess what I'm saying is, would this article fit in with the others hosted on the site? Does this idea potentially spark you guys' (the readers') interest? Or should I just start looking elsewhere to host them. I've got about 15 films I've watched recently/will be watching soon plus a very long netflix queue, so its not like I'll be running out of material (especially if I do articles such as the ones discussed in the previous paragraph).

I'd love to read those, Robert! I know there's quite a few other film buffs on here who would love to read them, as well. As for fitting in with the theme, I believe it will. It gives the site variety and furthers the "for the fans, by the fans" mentality.

Why avoid the major social themes?
