From Gerweck.net:
- This week's Raw episode on USA scored a 4.5 cable rating, based on hours of 4.4 and 4.5, according to Nielsen. Raw also did a 6.5 share.
- AM Raw did a 0.6 cable rating, with a 1.6 share.
So Raw gets a 4.5 for the 3rd straight week. Thoughts?

WWE will see it as Cena (champ) = Ratings And Then when it's Cena vs. Triple H, the IWC is going to go *BOOM* Seriously, before Edge was champ, he was drawing as well, but now since Edge was champ....

Oh god, I hope not, I'm hoping they see it as HHH=Ratings, that way Trips regains his stranglehold on the WWE title.

If HHH is the #1 contender is this the first time HHH will have a huge IWC support going in to wrestlemania (X8 people was rooting for jericho)

F HHH. He STILL SUCKS and once he gets the belt back, that rating will drop to the 3s once again.

Does anyone think that ratings are going up because the overall show is improving?

Because it HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE TIME. When will the IWC learn that this guy isn't half as good as they put him over as, who knows. But you will all learn SLOWLY how this guy is MUCH worse to watch as champion than Cena and his little Superman ways.

I think its a combination:
The exciting Edge/Cena feud Overall higher quality of the product recently (higher than the last few months, anyway) No more MNF Road to Wrestlemania - things always pick up and get more exciting around this time
This is when things get good for WWE - when a bunch of factors come together at the right time.

I'm not really surprised. There have been a number of reasons (to me) to watch Raw lately- - Edge vs. Cena feud This feud, whether fans like it or not, is white hot. Edge gets legitimate solid heel heat while Cena is Cena. You know what you're getting. I really hope they play out this whole mystery of Lita hitting Edge with the belt rather than just ignore it like nothing happened. Overall, a job pretty well done IMHO. - Trish & Mickie angle To me, the best thing Raw has going right now in terms of how well-written this angle is. I really like where they're going with Mickie's jealousy of "Jack" and it allows them to bump Ashley out of the feud by introducing the third party between Trish and Mickie as a non-roster member. This ensures Ashley doesn't get in the way and the spotlight shines on who it belongs, Trish and Mickie. Both characters have done AMAZING jobs playing their parts, especially Mickie. - Mr. McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels feud I wish they'd get on with it and announce Shane & Vince vs. Shawn 2-on-1 at Mania', but oh well. It's an interesting twist to Michaels career on-screen, where he's usually been viewed as the corporate guy who will do what he's asked. I will always love heel HBK vs. face HBK, but he can play either. I'm looking forward to the Mania' match, whatever it may be. - Shelton & Momma Benjamin While it doesn't equal huge ratings, it's a nice form of comic relief with both Shelton and his "momma" playing their parts very very well. Of course, WWE had to ruin it by having Momma Benjamin have a "heart attack". As I posted before, if only WWE would let Big Show write a poem about her and steal her casket, we'd be in business .

I think its simply the fact that the wrestling is decent and the angles are interesting.

The improved ratings for the last several weeks is because monday night football is over. People seem to forget how many people are both football and wrestling fans.

The improved ratings for the last several weeks is because monday night football is over. People seem to forget how many people are both football and wrestling fans. Actually, that's not the case. If you check back ratings history, the WWE's ratings are up huge compared to last year when Monday Night Football ended. Actually, their the highest they've been since 2002. So it's not that, it's Raw. Basically, Cena and Edge are the biggest part of it, but the show as a whole is improving. There is now more of a face/heel balance with the returns of Goldust and Rob Van Dam. The Micke/Trish angle is very interesting. Even though I'm not too big of a fan of Mama, she is really helping Shelton cut promos and get over as a heel, which only improves him. So the show as a whole is improving, so the whole Raw brand needs to be given a pat on the back. But no one can deny that Cena and Edge are a huge help to the product. It would be grossly unfair to say that Cena and Edge don't have much to do with it, and is just personal bias for that opinion. But yeah, the McMahon/Michaels feud, the Mickie/Trish feud, the improvement of Benjiman as a character and having great ring skills as well, the return of Rob Van Dam and other midcard faces that help establish a midcard, and most importantly, Cena vs Edge are what's giving a boost to the ratings. The WWE has got people watching. Now, they need to keep them watching.

They've been having a lot more matches, too. I mean, the quality of the matches isn't necessarily high, but they are getting a lot of guys on TV which leads to a more solid midcard, as mentioned above. I think it's a combination of a lot of things, but I think Edge should be credited probably with 40%, Cena for 20%, James/Stratus/Ashley 20%, and Triple H/Flair/Big Show 10%.
All we need now is to have Flair drop the belt and there's a decent midcard waiting to challenge for it. I say bring Val Venis back on Raw more often and have him get back in the hunt and use Goldust efficiently. They are great go to guys for that sort of stuff, to put a younger champ over. Plus, we haven't seen them contend for a while, so it will be a nice change of pace. And whatever they do, get RVD away from the IC title. If they want to make him a main event player, pull the trigger. I'm not saying give him the WWE title but rather book him as though he's ABOVE the IC title. That's the problem they had with Edge in 2004.
