Kitchen Nightmares has to be my favourite show currently on, it's such a hoot.
I can't think of many other shows where the host swears as much as he does.

I'd pay money just to watch Gordon Ramsay be Gordon Ramsay. He's awesome on any show he's on.

I don't enjoy USA version as much UK Version for some reason.
My favourite is when he went to Spainish Tapas and said it looked like a Strippers Club and that it felt like he was in the middle of Amsterdam ;D.
It just makes me laugh thinking Gordon Ramsay walking around Red District of Amsterdam.

I don't doubt that he tries to help the US restaurants just as much, but they edit it completely differently here.

I prefer the UK version but both shows are great. Gordon Ramsey is awesome and he looks like an older Chris Jericho.

The layers and layers of delusion always confounds me. They act like he just picked a random restaurant and told them what to do. The massive debt they are piling is too much for them to admit to themselves.

Love the BBC version of Kitchen Nightmares...tolerate the FOX version. Really enjoy Gordon Ramsay's F Word, though.
Hell's Kitchen needs to be stopped, though. Not only does it insult the viewers' intelligence, it's just wrong on so many culinary levels.

He's not a bad hero to have. He inspired me to start cooking, which is something I quite enjoy now, and I make delicious stuff. The steak recipe i stole from him is awesome

Nobody has watched Hell's Kitchen for the cooking since I'd say season three or so.

I don't know if you get the UK show he did over here in the US that was slightly more of a cooking show than Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares. The name's just come to me now - The F Word - but to me it's possibly the only cooking show I have ever watched that has ever been worth watching due to the fact the guy just never gets all cute and cuddly and romantic and borderline pornographic about cooking food.
One of the worst things about TV chefs is their habit of making everything cutie pie and using words like "veggies" and whatnot and playing out like it's an act akin to getting blown in candy floss land when in reality you're heating a slab of flesh over a fire. His instructions for how to cook food were basically
"CHICKEN - OVEN - COOK - VEGETABLES - CUT THEM - ROAST - BANG - EAT"
The guy is amazing. More chefs like that on TV.

My problem with the F word is that it seems like he had 5 different ideas for a show that got turned down... and then combined them.
Also some of his cooking segments could be elaborated on. Not to try and make it sound better for the camera... but things like approximate times would be nice if you are actually trying to cook it. (Granted that would be about .1% of the actual audience but still). I had a few other complaints about them but it's 5am and I haven't watched it in forever...
But yeah, I like both Kitchen Nightmares... both Rasmey's and just Kitchen Nightmares they tend to show massive blocks of them on BBC america during the day... and it is really amazing just how delusional these people get.
And my dad, brother and myself all watch Hell's Kitchen and I will second what someone else said... we aren't watching that for the cooking.

The US version of Kitchen Nightmares gets shown a fair bit on some obscure channel here so I find myself watching it if it's on.
The premise is exactly the same every single episode though. I mean there's absolutely no variation yet I still watch it:
Gordon turns up and orders a few dishes. Takes one bite of each and says they taste like shit. The owners get offended and maybe have an argument with him. Gordon watches as the restaurant has a crap night. Gordon shouts and swears. New dishes introduced and the restaurant given a makeover Have a great first night, everyone thanks Gordon and the owner might cry.

That the formula of the US version to a T, at least with the UK version there was an episode or two where he considered the food to be good and the problems lied in the restaurant's look or lack of a proper marketing plan.

I always love episodes where he butts heads with French cooking and the egos of some of the practitioners of it.

Yea, I like the episodes where it doesn't follow the typical formula. Like the one where he went to a fine dining restaurant and was very impressed by their ingredients and high quality food, and even admitted that they had a great chef. But the chef would add way too much stuff to each dish and he felt like he was ruining the already great food. Of course the chef thought he was perfect and whatnot. I loved the way that Gordon showed him the error of his ways. He took him to the restaurant bar and ordered some really fine aged whiskey, then asked the bartender to add some coca cola to it. The bartender straight up told him no, he would not ruin that amazing whiskey by adding soda to it.

Love both Kitchen Nightmares (BBC America airs the UK one at times) though I don't care Hell's Kitchen (too over the top) or F Word (too boring).
I love Gordon Ramsay ;D
