Who here has seen this? I just got done watching this and until tonight, I had never seen this movie. Of course, I remember seeing trailers back in 2005, which included shots of Jessica Biel in a bikini, probably to get guys to come see it (Not complaining. She is hot and she looked great in it, but I still think she looked hotter in that bikini scene in "Summer Catch.").
Anyway, I thought the movie was decent for the action, but there were some things that I didn't quite get. In terms of plot, I didn't quite see that the captain was the villain in the end, but then again, he was the one who didn't want Josh Lucas and Jessica Biel to get very far. Also, the turnaround with the plane-with-a-mind-of-its-own going from being an antagonist to being one of the good guys.
I don't see why it was hated. I thought it was decent. I am not sure if people hate on it because Rob Cohen is often looked at as a hack director or what. He gave us "The Fast and The Furious" and a lot of people still praise that one. I don't hear a lot of praise for "xXx" though, but I enjoyed that one, even though it was not that good. I haven't seen his other films like "Dragonheart" or "Daylight." Of course, I don't think he gets as much hate as Michael Bay does, but still.

Yeah, the relationship between Lucas and the plane always bugged me. Fox went from mad that it killed one of his friends to suddenly being buddy buddy after the interior fire and leading to the big cover up moment. All without no real transition.
I didn't find it too bad, just unever, with that and the general swerviness of the new villain and how they seem to forget Fox's death until the very end.

I hated it so much. I just hated all of the characters. None of them were likeable to me. Apparently, "the absolute best pilots in the military" means "these guys don't follow orders EVER", and not even in a cool Top Gun sort of way.
I don't even think they noticed when Jamie Foxx died. He crashes, and then two seconds later it's like he never existed.

I hated it, I wanted to see a movie about 3 pilots vs a Rogue AI controlled Stealth Bomber.
Sure I got that for the first 40 mins, But then it became a poor "Behind Enemy Lines" type movie.

They did manage to have one of the coolest dogfights ever tho' that part with them vs the Russians was amazing to look at. I was really turned off by the "Jessica's wacky adventure in North Korea" plot which took up half the movie and pretty much ground it to a halt.

I don't even think they noticed when Jamie Foxx died. He crashes, and then two seconds later it's like he never existed. That's because he was an afterthought the whole movie. The only time he opened his mouth was to say something goofy.

Didn't Jamie Foxx stress when he promoted it that he had made it before Ray?

I've still not seen this. It looked bad enough as-is, but the primary reason I never saw it is because I was already sick of it before it came out. I go to the theater a lot, especially during the big movie seasons. In the spring and summer of 2005, EVERY SINGLE action movie that came out had the trailer for Stealth. All of them, regardless of the studio.
