Ever get a bunch of new pencils only to find out that the erasers are worthless? They just leave big smudges all over the paper and don't even really erase your writing? I've always wondered why the hell that happens. It doesn't seem like pencil manufacturing should be that hard, so how is it that a company could fail to make a pencil that works properly?

Oh My God, yes, I hate erasers like that with the fury of a thousand suns. Made writing papers so tedious.

I hate that. They use these hard pieces of rubber that almost look like plastic instead of real erasers. I guess it's to save money but come on how expensive could erasers be?

My entire school career was basically this exact problem. We should be using laser pencils and magic erasers by now!

That exactly what they felt like, plastic. I've broken many pencils out of frustrations because of this. That's the best way to describe it. You would think that they would know that whatever that material is, it doesn't function properly. I always wondered if maybe pencils with those erasers were made for a special type of paper or something. I just can't fathom how or why this happens. There's no reason that I should have to test a pencil before purchasing it.
