I remember getting my friends together in the bathroom, to make sure the trade goes down smooth. They would check for authenticity, and the trade would go down. We've also had shake downs where I've been jumped for my cards. I've honestly heard "Go ahead and give me that Red Eyes *****" Yu-gi-oh was serious business. Carrying around folders full with prices on them. Guys begging for a certain card, saying they won't buy any more, then buy one more card. Fun times.

It was f***ing insane, is what it was. It was also very satisfying to know that on any given day, me and my friends could beat the characters in the anime handily.

I still remember me and my friend in a different class asking to go the bathroom at exactly 11:26 AM in 4th grade so I could trade for his Thousand Eyes Restrict.

Not really Yu-Gi-Oh, but me and my friend in elementary school became our own version of Team Rocket, stealing other kids Pokemon cards. The only difference was we stole from the snobby kids who paraded around with their awesome cards that their rich parents bought them. That, and we didn't recite a motto before every steal, and we didn't have an awesome talking cat. Good times.
