As a finisher- overrated or underrated?

Rated about right. I mean its a legitimately strong s.o.b. picking you and throwing you down while landing on you. Not the prettiest but, damned effective looking.

And he's 400 lbs too. Good enough to take someone out for 3 seconds.
And I agree it's not pretty, but I prefer finishers that could actually be used in a real fight. See: Attitude Adjustment, Wasteland, and Brouge-Kick

I was actually thinking about making a thread about this; thanks for saving me the trouble I'm not sure what I think of it, to be honest. What's bad is that I thought it looked AMAZING when he did it to Lawler...turned out that actually really hurt Lawler. Damn. It's hit or miss the rest of the time, imo. When he grabbed Orton's leg out of the punt and did it, it looked great. Other times it just kinda...looks like any other slam.

Its Orton's Kryptonite.
I believe in it.

A 400 lb strongman picking you up and then dropping you back first with all of his weight across your abdomen. I'd say it's an effective finish. Rated correctly.

It's effective enough to make Tommy Dreamer legit crap his pants.

Well, if it's from a guy like Mark Henry doing it, since he's really big and massive, it's effective, but I still can't get over the fact that it's a powerslam that was a weak grapple move in the AKI wrestling games.

Yeah but so were jumping piledrivers. I think it's rated about right too. Just a slam, and he does it safely but it's easy to believe it could put you down for 3 in kayfabe. Even if you just got the wind knocked out of you. And how does someone do a Wasteland or AA in a real fight?

I agree with most everyone here that it's rated right. Is it simplistic? Sure. It's a frickin' powerslam, though; if a guy three times your size drives you into the mat at full force, you're not kicking out of that.
If it was good enough for Davey Boy, it's good enough for Mark Henry.

I don't think an actual Wasteland or FU are really possible in a fight, but you could use a standard fireman's carry (like the amateur move), if you knew how to do it.
I'd say it's rated fair enough. A legit strongman, landing on you with all four hundred pounds of his being, plus gravity. Although, I'd probably prefer an over-the-shoulder powerslam, ala British Bulldog, just for the aesthetics.

And how does someone do a Wasteland or AA in a real fight? Its easy to do the wasteland if you follow the way Barrett used to do it. Have seven of your friends beat the living hell out of the guy you're fighting. When they're done pick him up and Wasteland him.
