it seems people all along have been getting busted for it....and really only one guy stands out as looking like he had a true violation.
is wwe intentionally trying to police themselves before congress gets into it but also maybe getting guys in hot water over cortisone shots for nothing?

I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything but for the last time:
"Just look at him" is not grounds for a wellness suspension. The wellness policy tests for a number of substances, not just steroids. I'm not saying that guys like Mason Ryan aren't on something, but if he is, he is smart about the testing and is using a substance that can go undetected by the tests like HGH.

I don't really get what the argument is. I don't know if Cortisone is on the banned substance lists for them (as far as I'm aware, it's not public) but it's not the same thing as ibuprofen (one is a steroid, the other is not).
And if it's just that some guys who look like they are haven't been busted while others that don't look like they are have, that's not really a measure of anything.

Cortisone shots have always been a strange issue in sports drug testing for me, because they are clearly "performance-enhancing," and they help people overcome injury/pain in order to play, but aren't seen the same way as steroids and HGH. Is it just because steroids are illegal? That is the biggest distinction I can see ...

When has cortisone ever gotten anyone a violation? When approved by a doctor, any prescribe-able drug other than Somas is a free pass and, if anything, we know there are more than enough mark doctors out there that will approve it for based on the star power or a a few extra bucks slipped their way. Anyone who gets busted for an RX is an idiot.
That is not to say it's a joke, just there is only so much they can do. I mean God only knows how many people were sent to rehab threw it that had their lives saved or how many people like MVP had potentially fatal conditions found thanks to the testing.

Call me a conspiracy theorist or whatever but I absolutely believe it to be a joke. The only people who are wellnessed seem to be low midcarders. I find it odd that no one in the main event seems to have any issues. I think WWE has the program to keep congress off their backs but they probably let some of "their boys" slide.

Prior to the recent suspensions, there was a good 2 years where it felt like no one got suspended.
And considering they actually have a policy unlike about 99% of other promotions/actually enforce it unlike Dixlieland, that says a lot about it.

As I've said before, people are so used to corporate newspeak that anything with a name like "Wellness" is automatically going to be looked at as a joke/smokescreen.
The Wellness Policy is actually documented in WWE's corporate site. It's spelled out in black and white. One of the things that most people seem to be mistaken about is that Wellness ONLY refers to drug/controlled substance violations.
The Wellness policy IS a way to cover WWE's ass, yes. But it covers more than simply illegal or illicit substances. It actually covers a large range of health related issues, from the Drug policy, to the "liver enzymes" that ruined The GAB one year, to diagnosing and treating MVP's Heart condition.
It's just that "Wellness" has become a catch-all for drugs, rather than the quite literal whole-body wellness it was supposed to protect.

You don't get suspended for HGH in the WWE? First time I'm hearing this, I was 100% sure it was part of the banned substances, just like deca, winstrol and the other steroids. If that stuff is beeing tolerated there's no reason why the average wrestlers size isn't at least and extra 20-25 lbs, HGH ain't weak stuff. Plus, apart from Titus O Neil, nobody got a muscly gut, although maybe in his case, it's just that he doesn't work out his abs (hard to tell, he got not much definitions there).
