I always liked Billy Gunn. He was one of the most underrated talents on the roster, he was also very athletic, had great intensity, and while he wasn't great on the mic when he was with DX he did know how to excite the crowd. He cut a pretty good pre-match promo against X-Pac @ KOTR (imo) so I wouldnt say he was horrible. His Kiss my Ass match from Summerslam 1999 is very underrated and isnt The Rock carrying him like people would have you believe. He also had a pretty good WWF title match against HHH on RAW where I nearly thought he'd win. I appreciated Mr. Ass, and his theme was one of the best songs WWE/F has ever produced. I specificially ordered 1999 KOTR just based on the fact that I could at least hear his theme 6 times assuming he'd win. Needless to say I was a very happy mark that night. I'll always mark for that second rope famouser he hit to win it.

Gunn was out of his element because the late-90's had so many great talkers (including his tag partner) that Gunn's mediocre mic ability just wasn't going to cut it. He had the look and was solid enough in the ring, but just didn't have that extra gear to keep up with all the talent the WWF had at the time.
And Roaddogg carried NAO. Without Roaddogg's catchphrases and mic ability that team would have flopped badly. Luckily for Gunn all he had to do was grab the mic and say "if you're not down with that.....".
