Ah yes, Billy Gunn. The man behind the phrase "Billy Gunn'd," when you're on the fast track to the top and you get derailed by no fault of your own. Man had a great Fame-asser, though; that thing was a beaut.
You know someone actually called Eve the new Billy Gunn. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

He had a great theme song. He loved to stick 'em. He especially loved to pick 'em. ...

I really don't know what to say about him. I mean come on, we all knew his singles push was doomed to failure from the moment it started. The guy was just painfully mediocre at everything except tag team wrestling.

I appreciated Mr. Ass, and his theme was one of the best songs WWE/F has ever produced.

I always liked Billy Gunn. He was one of the most underrated talents on the roster, he was also very athletic, had great intensity, and while he wasn't great on the mic when he was with DX he did know how to excite the crowd.
Either way if he had stayed healthy he could've been a great main eventer.

He had a great theme song. Well, "The One" did, at least.

You know someone actually called Eve the new Billy Gunn. I'm still trying to figure that one out. I think it's the part where she gets pushed ahead people either more talented or more over than she is (or both). Kinda like Billy Gunn at King of the Ring, now that I think about it.

If a wrestler could be world champion based on their look alone, Billy Gunn would have been it. However, he wasn't great in the ring (despite being athletic) and he was terrible on the mic. I don't know where the "injuries derailed him" argument is coming from - WWE tried to push him as a singles star in 99 (KOTR winner) and 2000 (as "The One") and it failed miserably both times.

I don't his 1999 push failed miserably at all. He had an entertaining feud/match with The Rock, then they didn't know what do with him, panicked, and stuck him back with Road Dogg again.

That's why I never liked the NAO. Aside from their intro I really didn't see anything in them and eventually neither did everyone else.
I do appreciate how everyone made jokes at his name's expense. And of course Edge's "Billy Bitch cakes" name for him.
