After having just watched the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels Rivalries DVD, they debunked a few normally accepted truths. One I noted was (spoilered for those who haven't seen it) {Spoiler}I always believed and have always heard as the generally accepted truth that the Bret/Shawn Iron Man match went over an hour because neither one wanted to take a pin for the other. This was not true. This really makes me realize how little we read on the internet about wrestling can be accepted. Let's face it, if it's on the internet, it has a STRONG possibility of being either fabricated or a "best guess which looks most correct." And if a wrestler says something in an interview, a "youshoot", a tweet a personal email or even a mostly presented as shoot DVD about a rivalry (which means that above example could still hold water as far as I'm concerned), EVERYTHING a wrestler (or someone else in the "business") says is a work. Take that as fact until proven otherwise. So, what other things do most people on the internet accept as truths, that aren't? I've seen generally everyone agrees that Eric Bischoff is the one who TOLD Tony Shiavone to rag on Mick Foley "putting butts in the seats." What if Tony improvised that off the top of his head? Who knows for sure except Tony and Eric, and whatever they say is suspect.
