If you didn't see Superstars this week they had Antonio Cesaro vs Tyson Kidd in a competitive match and not a squash like a few weeks ago, you could have replaced Antonio with Jinder Mahal or Hunico and it would have been a similar match with a different style.
Do you think WWE has lost interest in Antonio and regret calling him up? Is he the new Tyler Reks?

So, pretty much what you're asking is will a competitive match with Tyson Kidd ruin Cesaro's gimmick?
Yes, yes it will.

Aside from the fact that he used to be Claudio Castagnoli, Antonio doesn't really have anything going for him at the moment. The most notable things about him are his leg tape and his Swiss Death uppercut that he's only used once (I haven't seen Superstars yet so I don't know if he's used it again). I can't see him being more than a midcarder sadly based on the attention he's been getting from WWE right now (Sandow has got nothing but good things to look forward to).

Tbh, I thought Antonio would flop when they debuted him as a freaking rugby player of all things and gave him the most generic look ever complete with god awful theme music and stupid thigh tape. Doesn't help that he debuted around the same time as Tensai, Brock Lesnar, Ryback and Damien Sandow so he's gotten lost in the shuffle.
I actually hope he goes back to FCW for a couple of months and then redebuts, this time with actual effort.

It never looked like they had plans for him to begin with. He was simply a pawn in the humiliation of Teddy Long.

I can see him becoming IC champion later this year. It's way to soon to say he'll go down the same path as Tyler Reks.

I think he'll be fine. The days of new guys making Brock Lesnar like debuts is long gone. It'll take a while, but they'll find something for him to do.

Yeah I was surprised about it too, but Cesaro and Kidd had a good match. He just needs promo time and match time on the main show to really get momentum going.
I like the new red trunks and socks a hell of a lot better than the plain black trunks and white socks.

How long has he been up on the main roster, a month?
Everybody calm down.

Lord Tensai was on Superstars the other week and then he main evented RAW on Monday. I'm not too worried about Claudio, especially since it would definitely be WWE's loss if they don't use him.

You have to understand that he wasn't brought in as the chosen one. He was given a (lets say) 2 match trail to see if he was good enough for the job. He was and now he has to work his way up. Plus I'll never complain about good matches.
Matt Striker: Cesaro, of course, training in that Chikara style...
Don't ever change, Striker.

I don't have any problem with Cesaro on Superstars. He got to put on a longer match than he would have on one of the main shows. The match he had with Kidd is how their first match SHOULD have gone. Claudio is way too talented to be just a squash machine, and so far his opponents have been people who deserve better than being squashed to begin with.
And I actually like the rugby player thing. It's not even a really huge aspect of his gimmick. It's just a backstory to explain away his stiff in ring style. Plus it's "very European".

I thought it's only the really huge 'monsters' who get a longer series of squash matches upon their debut. Don't think having a competitive match, or being on Superstars, is any indication of WWE giving up on him already.

You rather Cesaro not be on TV at all this week?

I did think it was odd that he's already been put on Superstars in only his third match, but at least he got a decent 7 minute match with Kidd.

3 weeks in, and he's already on the C show. Great.

Did anyone else notice that Chimel introduced him as "Antonio Santoro"?
