I was recently watching a WCW Saturday Night from 1995 and it was held in the street in Charlotte as a cross promotion with TBS's Coca Cola 600 NASCAR broadcast. It got me wondering about all of the weird places where they have held wrestling events. WCW was famous for this during the Bischoff years. -1995 Bash at the Beach on the actual beach -First Nitro at Mall of America -Road Wild -Spring Break Nitros What are some others you remember from any promotion? What are your opinions on this? I personally wish they would do this more. It gives the show a unique, memorable look. I am trying to find pictures to post but I can't seem to find many. Here are some examples:

A local promo used to run their shows at a place similar to Chuck E. Cheese. Maybe thats why they didn't last long

When you think about the Hammerstein Ballroom by itself... Its opulence vs. its rep for hosting the grungiest of the grungiest hardcore feds seem like they shouldn't match -at all-.

I went to an indy show that was held at a Drag Racing strip.

I remember watching Raw and during their "Did You Know" bits, I read how there was a show at the oldest arena, which is Arene De Nimes and it's in France. It seems surreal to have a live wrestling show at a venue that has existed for centuries.

I have never seen the Hammerstein Ballroom outside for wrestling. It's a very nice looking building. Certainly doesn't look like a place to hit other people with light tubes.

I know most people here dislike CZW but TOD takes it. Seriously in case you haven't seen one of those (which most probably haven't and I don't blame them) it's held in the middle of the boondocks in Delaware behind someones house (I think.)

I remember one of the early Shotgun Saturday Nights in the middle of the terminal at Grand Central Station. Undertaker even tombstoned HHH on the escalator.

Mall of America was so weird. I think it was an attempt by Bishcoff to give the show a "big" feel.

Who else ran at that building, they never used lighttubes in ECW.

Regal's book contains a story where they had a ring floating on a raft; the crowd was made up of people on the surrounding boats. Sadly there doesn’t appear to be any photos or footage.
That Unreported world documentary about wrestling in the Congo just had a ring set-up in the street.

I can't find the video to link it but I've seen film footage of Gorgeous George wrestling in a ring that was in the middle of a swimming pool,

Watch DDT - they have matches in department stores, fairgrounds, construction sites and campsites.

There was a match wrestled on an island once. This was back in the 80's and was reported in Pro Wrestling Illustrated I think

I know it has been common for local indy shows for a long time now, but it seems funny for some shows to be held in high school gyms.
