Inspired by the heel GM idea WWE seems to love so much, what was the general consensus around the IWC about Bischoff as GM? Was it seen as good, or bad?

I thought it was a good change of pace from McMahon's heel character. I dunno if it was really original since Bischoff didn't do anything that McMahon didn't do earlier, but it had a good place on Raw.

Gave us the greatest WTF moment ever with the Booker T segment. Other than that, it just gave me a sense of 'been there done that'.

I liked Bischoff at first, when they had the brand wars and he wanted to win at all costs. He was a heel, but a heel out to be the winner. Look at the first Elimination Chamber match. He put heel champ Triple H in there with four faces who hated him, and another heel who hated him.
Later Bischoff became like all other heel authority figures, just a bitch who did whatever his top heels wanted him to do. After Bischoff got his head shaved Evolution laughed at him and he went back somewhat.

Bischoff was pretty good, but he was no McMahon.
I think he had the unfortunate position of being the first indication that this character role was not going away, and that nobody could ever do it as well as Vince.

HLA was legendary and to this day I take a few moments out of each day to shed a tear on the lack of modern-day implementation... ...those moments usually last about 3 MINUTES... (I feel extra evil for using this comment as my 666th post so here's an HLA-inspired visual aid)

I liked it. Honestly the Bischoff/Austin co-GM storyline was one of the main reasons I really liked Raw in 2003, despite everyone seeming to hate it.

He was good at first when he was feuding with Stephanie. After that, it got boring real quick.

It was ok and it had some memorable moments, especially him vs Heyman since they don't like each other in real life.

I loved Bischoff as the evil GM.
I mean just look at his face, the guy just screams smarmy asshole and he played it perfectly.

He was great, and different from McMahon, until about 2005 when they decided to just recreate Austin-McMahon with him and Cena, and no one bought it.

I loved Bischoff as the evil GM. I mean just look at his face, the guy just screams smarmy asshole and he played it perfectly. I'm not even sure he played anything, per se. But yeah, as a former WCW mark, I had mixed feelings. I love Bischoff as an on screen character (besides current TNA run) and I liked him as GM. I actually think he's more dislikable than McMahon is, even. And he did some entertaining stuff. Theres just a lot MORE they could've done. There should have been a legitimate Vince vs Eric match on PPV, for example. And the fact that he was brought in after the whole wCw angle, I wish they could've found some way to have him there for that.

He was really good in the role, and the last gasp of the heel authority figure being remotely interesting any more.

I've said it a previous thread a few months back, he was a great heel character, but by the end of his run in 2005, he got really stale.
