Raw did 4.28 million viewers last night, with competition from the NBA playoffs doing 8.51 million viewers. That's the low range of normal, rebounding from a near record 15-year low last week. Rating should be in the normal 3.0 or 3.1 range.

I felt it was a better show this week personally. Cena being there and not a holiday helped things as well.

I guess it just goes to show that a really, really, really, really, REALLY bad part of a show can overweigh everything else.

Did we ever get a segment by segment breakdown of last week? I'm curious whether it was just less viewers all around for the holiday weekend, or if it was the Cena-less main segments themselves that underperformed catastrophically enough to drag it down.

Still only a 2.9 with a lot of Cena. And next week is 3 hours, they might get like a 2.5

I think thats a fair rating. I enjoyed most things except Cole vs Cena. Hunico vs Cara was good, Ziggler vs Sheamus was ok (just hate that Ziggler lost again), Punk vs Kane was great, Ryback squash was enjoyable, tag match was decent enough.
The opening segment Cena comedy and Cena vs Tensai/Cole even it out to an meh/ok Raw at best imo. Not the worst one ever by any means, it was just a truly terrible ending. Yeah I can live with them getting a 3.0

I'm sure we'll get it eventually, but all we know of is that the Punk/Bryan mach lost viewers in the 10 PM slot.

That sounds like an appropriate rating. Ignoring the Cena/Cole controversy, it was actually a pretty good show.

RAW RATINGS (AND WHILE YOU CAN PUT PERFUME ON A PIG, IT'S STILL A PIG) by Dave Scherer @ 6:21 PM on 6/5/2012
The 6/4 edition of Raw did a 2.9 rating with 4,285,000 viewers. The show did hours of 2.94 and 2.91.
That is up from last week but with way less competition on TV (no Hatfields & McCoys for one), it is hardly anything for WWE to feel good about. As I said on my hotline today, the first words out of Vince McMahon's mouth next week on Raw should be "You're Fired!" to John Laurinaitis. That storyline is killing the company and the talents that are being made subservient to it. It's boring, predictable and turning viewers away. If this rating, with almost no competition, doesn't send Vince and creative a message, they are deaf, dumb and blind. That only worked for one entity and that was The Who's Tommy.
The 6/2 edition of AM Raw did a 0.44 rating with 457,000 viewers.
------------------------------------------------------
It did beat Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, though that's mainly because it was on the much smaller NBC Sports Network. Can't find a rating for the NBA on TNT, though I imagine that beat RAW.

Well ratings have been down since Punk's been champion and his segments usually don't do all that well. You can't really just say "who gives a shit about ratings?" when you're not doing well...

Well ratings have been down since Punk's been champion and his segments usually don't do all that well. You can't really just say "who gives a s*** about ratings?" when you're not doing well... Also, Punk basically brought any criticism upon himself. I don't recall anyone ever really giving a damn about ratings for specific segments until Punk himself was on TV and Twitter making jokes about people changing the channel when Kevin Nash/Johnny Ace/Alberto Del Rio came on TV, only for it to turn out that his segments were in fact drawing poorly, even in the spots that have historically always done well. If this was Miz, for instance, holding the WWE title for half a year and his segments in the 10pm hour were often making people change the channel (which has never happened in the 19 year/1000 episode history of Raw until recently) you just know Punk would have a snarky comment about him being a ratings killer. When the shoes on the other foot though he gets touchy about it and it's suddenly not so funny.

CM Punk isn't killing the ratings. The WWE is. If they'd give a damn about the WWE Championship, the ratings might be back where they were last year.

It also helps to be put in a position to do well. Even though he's the champ, he's been treated at best as the 5 or 6 guy in the pecking order so that is what he draws as. I am not saying he'd be a huge ratings draw if pushed to the front mind you, just he draws ratings about in line with how important they've made him seem.
