As for my own opinion it is really, really tough to choose. I could probably put them in any order depending on the day.
Right now I'll say...
1. Shawn/Razor 2. Bret/Austin 3. Punk/Cena 4. Taker/Shawn 5. Bret/Owen

Punk vs Cena, only because I was there. Also, notice how 3 of the 5 matches happened in Chicago. Superstars tend to bring their A-game when it comes to in-ring action in Chicago.

Close, but I'll give it to the Bret/Owen cage match, followed by Punk/Cena.

1. Bret/Austin 2. Bret/Owen (although I prefer their Mania match) 3. Cena/Punk 4. Shawn/Taker 5. Shawn/Razor
Love them all though.

Close, but I'll give it to the Bret/Owen cage match, followed by Punk/Cena. I need to watch Bret/Owen again. I've seen it goodness knows how many times and have enjoyed it. However, then someone mentioned that it was way too long and called to attention it was one of those matches where the guys can escape (like just about all WWF cage matches) and I couldn't help, but think he was right.

Gotta go with Bret vs Austin,I'd consider Punk vs Cena to be a close second too.

Bret Owen was a five star match? That was easily the weakest main SummerSlam had up to that point.

I can see why the other matches would get 5 stars but Bret/Owen at Summerslam was really not that great. It was alright.
Bret/Austin is my pick, followed by a tie between HBK/'Taker and Punk/Cena.

As much as I wanted to go with Michaels/Taker, I went with Bret/Austin...that defined an era and was absolutely perfect in every way.

Why the Bret/Owen SummerSlam match and not their far better Wrestlemania match?

While Punk-Cena is my personal favorite, in my heart of hearts I know Bret-Austin is the best match.

Punk/Cena had the best atmosphere and that's an important factor for me.

Hell in a Cell told a perfect classic heel getting comeuppence story. Shawn screwing Taker out of the title, then running away in the original match. Setting up the debut of the inescapable cage match that has become the most brutal match in WWE history. Shawn took crazy bumps and blades and made it look like Taker was killing him. And just when you think Taker is going to finish him off, they introduce a character that has been on television for 15 years now and screw Taker yet again. A perfectly built match from start to finish and the best gimmick match of all time.

The cage match is one of my favorite matches of all time. Even with the ending, the return of Davey Boy, and the Harts all coming to the rescue. Great work, great psychology. I have a boner from simply thinking about this match.

Punk/Cena just had EVERYTHING you could ask for from a wrestling match. A solid crowd favourite, his nemesis, a white hot crowd, excellent ring work, 2 and nine tenths pinfalls, and dramatic storytelling.
