yeah, let's go with 2001 until Sunday, and then try and get back on schedule from there. The holiday, plus other things, have created some distractions.

So my pick won't be until the 22nd, one week later? And just so I get my ball rolling the right way, Triumph of the Will is available on Netflix, but it is also on Youtube in its entirety. Below are two different links. Just links, not embedded videos. It is Nazi propaganda (however influential to film it is), and as my pick, it's an attempt at a test of where this movie club can go. It's impossible to discuss such a film without at least some historic political discussion, but I'll try to keep it away from modern political discussion. www.youtube.com/movie?v=BBfYncHshJc&feature=mv_srwww.youtube.com/watch?v=GHs2coAzLJ8And for the record, I am not a Nazi. I'm a dirty, godless, communist.

and just so nobody gets bombarded with PM's, I've PM'd everyone on the schedule who hasn't updated their selection, as well as this Sunday's group leader.

Any ideas on what you're going to do? Also, kinda wish we had more entries down I'm kind of leaning towards the movie Escape from New York(1981) although I'm not sure how easy it will be to find. I know Wal Mart had it for pretty cheap a year or two ago but I'm not sure if they still do. I figured it would be an interesting one to do since not only is it one of my favorites but it is cult film that doesn't get a ton of praise like a lot of other cult films so there is a ton of people who have never seen it.

Welcome to the club. I for one would love to discuss Escape From New York, but i don't know about its availability either. For what it's worth, i in fact bought my copy from Wal-Mart... years ago.
But yeah, we've finished up on Triumph of the Will and moved on to cheerier films like Alien.

ok, sent out a PM to next week's(8/5) presenter, so hopefully we'll know next week's film soon. I'm starting to get worried about that big block of people presenting in late August/September, as none of them have selected movies and I don't think I've seen them participating in other's threads, either. Hope they're still a part of this.

on kind of a side note, I have a links to the thread containing the discussion for each movie on the previous page , I think they would better on the very first post of this thread making it easier for people to find them

not trying to step on toes, but how long shall we give next week's presenter to choose/inform us of his film choice before we should consider replacing him?
