..in wrestling history to challenge the streak, who would you pick? I'd pick The Great Muta. Maybe even have him win it.

The Great Muta would be my top pick.

I got a few:
-Roddy Piper. Nuts, twang'd, heel Piper.
-Mitsuharu Misawa. Just for Taker selling.
-Vader. '93, ball-wrecking monster.
-John Cena. I'd go for 2007 Cena, around the time his main-event gimmick really clicked, but before it got to '08/'09 levels of tiresome.

Stone Cold. He was the one guy that always had Taker's number.

Bret Hart (before Goldberg gave him a concussion and ended his career)

Prime Andre, early 90s Vader, mid-98 Goldberg or maybe a 1990 era Ultimate Warrior. Ah, let's make it a 4-on-1 handicap match.
A Macho King/Taker match would be nice, too.

Edit: Looks like I pocket posted.
I'd second Steve Austin and the Great Muta.
