This has been the best episode of this amazing season. That Walt 1 year pool speech was really nerve racking. Walt vs. Skyler argument was amazing and this is by far Anna Gunn's best acting season yet. She really deserves a emmy nomination for this season alone.
Also I'm on team Skyler. Walt is a monster and this is the first season I really want to see him fall. He is beyond saving and I can't blame Skyler. Walt is the reason why Hank got shot and Skyler know's that and she probably knew Walter was threatened by Gus that he's going to kill his family. She is powerless and her only glimmer hope of getting out of this alive without going through a messy situation is if his cancer comes back and kills him.
Her being morally gray about and doing some horrible things like cheating on him with Ted but she would of never done those things if Walt swallowed his pride and accepted treatment. If he never constantly lied to her and missed out on important things like not being there for the birth of their daughter. Or buying Walt Jr. an expensive dangerous car for a 16 year old who can barely drive without consent together. Or Walt always painting her as the bad guy in front of her children and family.
Walt's intentions were good originally but he is beyond saving. He's into deep. He needs his comeuppance. He needs to die or do something so horrible that he's going to die with deep regret of was it all really f***ing worth it?

You can't be serious. And no, she can't go to Hank. Not serious in the sense that it's just a tv show, but she could do that. Also keep in mind she cheated on her husband with his baby in the room and gave Ted a ton of money that wasn't hers to give, I have no sympathy for her character.

Yes but this episode established that she's remorseful for her end in this. She made mistakes of her own but nothing put anyone in danger(Ted just needed to watch his step). The only alternative attitude for her character to make is to live under the same delusions that Walter is living in and that's far worse.

I love the parallel between Walt and Hank. Both are now heads of their respective sides.
I was a little bummed by the lack of Mike, but what little we got was great. I'm still not into Lydia. It would've been better if she was introduced sooner, even if it was just one scene.
So we now know the entire series takes place over two years, and that in the first year Walt got cancer and beat it while worthing his way up the meth industry. Not bad at all,

Did anyone else hear a gun cocking at the last tick of the clock?
Is Walt still wearing the watch Jessie gave him on his 52nd birthday when he buys the machine gun?

If anyone is interested, the link to my analysis/review is in my sig, but in brief:
That confrontation between Walt and Skylar in the bedroom might have been one of the best confrontations this show has ever done. Such a great game of verbal chess, and Skylar with the checkmate (assuming that's how chess works. I got nothin').

Such a great game of verbal chess, and Skylar with the checkmate (assuming that's how chess works. I got nothin'). Nah, I felt the same way. It was so engaging and I let out an audible "Buuuuurn" when she said what she did at the end of it. I'm glad she's starting to dish it out as well as she's taking it. I have an idea of how this show will end.... {Spoiler}Skylar gets cancer from smoking cigarettes.

It would seem that much of this stems from Walt's pride. He sees himself as the "King" of meth, because of the superior quality of his product.
Looking back at pride though, Walt had an offer for free healthcare from Grey Matter. He had a chance to keep his job at the high school. He had a chance to walk away from everything, but his pride has kept him from making the "right" decision. Of course, the messed up thing in his mind is that he is doing all of this for his family.
On the topic of Skyler, I absolutely hate her, and I feel that more because of Anna Gunn rather than Skyler White. Skyler has abandoned her principles a few times, again in the interest of the family. She doesn't want to be the one to bring down the family, heck that's why she helped craft the story of Walt's gambling.
Of all the pride in the family, Walk still somehow believes that Skyler will come around and love and respect him again. Notwithstanding are the horrible things that Walt needed to do in order to make Jesse love and respect him again.

Having watched the whole show again recently, Walt really did have multiple chances to get out:
1) After Tuco kidnapped him and Jesse he could have stopped right there. Even Jesse was surprised when he wanted to keep cooking. 2) After the RV died in the dessert and they made all that meth. The episode that ends with Walt telling those other two dealers "stay out of my territory." 3) After the first sale to Gus. He even tried to stay out, but got back in when Jesse started selling anyway. 4) When Gus was going to kill him and Jesse. Jesse basically begged Walt not to kill Gale and told him to go to the DEA.
But Walt just keeps pushing it.

Thinking about it today, Skyler made herself really expendable last night. It would be really easy for Walt to kill her now if she won't calm the f*** down, get rid of the body, and report her missing. It would make sense now that Marie and Hank have seen first-hand how Skyler has seemingly gone off the deep end, no one would question if she ran away. All Walt would have to do then is hire someone to manage the car wash and launder the money.

yeah, Skyler is on the fast track to a ricin cigarette pretty soon. It can't be a coincidence that she's chain-smoking now, and there just so happens to be a poison cigarette hidden in her bedroom.
or maybe it is, what the hell do I know

Yeah I know, I was only looking at Walt's past actions from a different perspective. He seemed to have really changed after killing Gus. Before that, and even while being hunted by Gus, he was still doing the things he was doing with his family's well-being in mind, but with a bit of selfishness too. He hasn't really DONE anything that drastic since then since it's still kind of early, but his personality has definitely changed, and it shows with how he verbally treats people. But Skyler (I have NO idea why I have been misspelling her name tonight as "Skylar" even though I've known and spelled it correctly before. Must be the anger) has shown signs of being a total conniving bitch way before Walt's descent. I'll still never forget her having an affair with Ted immediately after finding out Walt was cooking even though she kept accusing him of having an affair of his own. And that felt more like she was only getting back at him, as oppose to being "driven" there from devastation upon discovery. She may not be killing people and such, and she technically isn't more villainous than Walt, but she is FAR from being a saint. I agree..my bias towards Skyler is that she did all the stuff you mentioned earlier on. That made her incredibly unlikable.

I got nothing else to say See, if that asshole is on Walt's side, it's proof that Walt's just evil! Also, does anyone else want an hour-long fight scene between Hank and Mike?
