Following on from the Superhero/Supervillain vote ... I thought I would try another one this time with Fighting Game Characters.
I love versus fighting games, chances are if a fighting game is out there I have played it or a part of its franchise or own it. I mean who doesn't love a good martial arts exhibition, the bone crunching blows of a muay thai kick, the mighty muscle man hurling a man across the screen, the clash of swords between two samurai or just the plain bizarre acrobatic or supernatural antics of eccentric fighting styles? I know I do so to be able to mix up all these fighting styles and then challenge your friends to a few rounds of high impact action is great fun. Added to that there is skill and technique needed to master these games keeps bringing me back for more.
But of course as with anything there will always be fighting styles or characters you gravitate to be it simply the martial arts style, the motives of the fighter, the sheer sex appeal or simply the skill in comboing a bunch of moves togethger leaving your opponent a bloody mess on the floor of a busy street market.
So with that in mind Please send your Favorite Top 30 Fighting Game characters to me via PM or by posting in the thread below. If you can't think of 30 send me a top 20 or 10 (10 = minimum).
If you don't order them from 1 - 30 (I prefer ascending order) it will be null and void.
Please name the game the character is from even if it seems obvious, as there are several charcters in different games with the same name (e.g King - Which could mean the Tekken Wrestler or the King of Fighters Woman who dresses in male clothing)
DO NOT put the same character from different games: Johnny Cage (Mortal Kombat) is one vote, don't give
me a list like this.

This also applies to odd modifications to the same character, so the Jack character in Tekken (1-6) is still basically the same Jack robot (Obviously P-Jack from Tekken 2 is seperate).

FAQ time:
How do the points and scoring work?
Easy. Number one on your lists will get 30 points, whilst number 30 will get 1 point. I will then tally up all the scores and make the countdown from that. If you send only 10 then the your number one will still get 30 and your 10th favorite will get 21 points.
Who can we vote for?
Has the character appeared in a fighting game (e.g Streetfighter, King of Figters, Tekken etc ...) If so they are eligble. Anything from Dead or Alive or Skullgirls to Mace: The Dark Age is allowed. (Yes even Powerstone and Super Smash Brothers series)
What characters/games are NOT allowed?
No sports simulation boxing/mma/wrestling game characters (Yes that includes Def Jam and saturday night slam masters) are allowed and unless the character has transitioned to a fighting game (Cody from Final Fight went on to appear in Streetfighter) then I will not except Beat Em up characters either, also no M.U.G.E.N creations. If in doubt ask first
What about Marvel or DC guys from there fighting games or the versus series?
They are allowed (assuming they appeared in a game) but remember this is a favorite fighting game vote, so although you may really like The Green Lantern comics his fighting game representation is fairly poor (MK vs DC), but otherwise vote for who you like (from a fighting game perspective)
What about bosses?
You can rarely play as them but we still love those cheap b*******. Shao Kahn, Apocalypse, Rugal, Gill and the rest can be voted for.
What are we basing are vote on?
This is purely on who you like the most. If you think Dee Jay (Super Street Fighter 2) was awesome to kick butt with then put him as your number one choice of fighter, if you liked the infinite shenanigans of Cable in Marvel vs Capcom 2 put him in your list or if you thought Kung Lao's fatalites were great stick him in your list. If you think Ryu is iconic but don't actually use or like him very much then don't put him high in your list or at all.
What if I can't think of 30 fighters?
Well the minimum is 10, if you can't think of ten fighting game characters you like then I'm not sure you have any interest in fighting games or this vote. Fighter's Generation is probably the best resource for serious fighting game characters, more obscure or daft fighting games you may have to research yourself.
So I now await all the lists of 10-30 fighting game characters.
Let the voting begin, who will be the champion? Can Ken uppercut Iori into orbit? Is Devil Jin or Nightmare going to rule the world? Will Sarah Bryant and Mai make a top spot just because of there appearence? Maybe Stryker or Glacius will finish this with lethal force? Perhaps Weaponlord, Clayfighter or Eternal Champions get an entry?
It's up to you!
