Hmmm...you do realize that this was made 5 years ago.
Besides, at this point, he almost seems to be trolling.

Can't disagree too much. The planet Hoth & the Bounty Hunters are the best thing about the movie and the bounty hunters don't even get much screen time.

I appreciate that these movies are George Lucas' creations, and that he's entitled to feel any way he wants about them. But, in this instance, he's wrong. Empire will always be the best of the movies. From the incredible visuals, the iconic Hoth fight, the introduction of no less than 3 iconic characters(Boba Fett, Lando, mother F'N YODA), and ending on easily one of the most intense emotional punches in cinema history. Yeah.....it's the worst of the bunch alright.

Actually that's pretty funny considering practically the first paragraph in Plinkets reviews go something along the lines of "If you think Empire is the most boringest one, well than f*** off".

If he's that unhappy with it, how come Empire is the one that he's messed with the least?

I'm guessing it's bitterness over the fact that people regard it as the best when coincidentally, it's the Star Wars film he was hands-on with the least.

Why do you feel that's the case? I only saw AOTC once, but I remember liking it. ... Then again, I felt the same way about Episode 1 after the 1st time I saw it. A lot of people talk crap about the acting of the guy who played Anakin, but I didn't think there was anything too wrong with his performance. I was even able to relate to his character sometimes, which is something I can't say for Anakin in the Phantom Menace. Maybe that has more to do with the plot characterizing Anakin than the actor's portrayal of him, but whatever. I thought Episode 1 was far worse than Episode 2.

Personally, I found Episode II incredibly weak because it really just seemed like filler between Episode I and II. They could have just jumped forward eight years halfway through Episode I and gotten to the same place, without all the excess crap.

Of course he's going to trash the one he didn't direct. The man seems utterly incapable of admitting his own faults.

Empire IS the one that had the lowest box office numbers..............unadjusted for inflation, of course.
The Phantom Menace $474,244,312 Star Wars $460,998,007 Revenge of the Sith $474,244,312 Attack of the Clones $310,676,740 Return of the Jedi $309,306,177 The Empire Strikes Back $290,475,067

I dunno, if I recall, Empire was the only one that really didn't have much of a definitive ending. I suppose if there's a criticism to be thrown at it, it's that.

I also think Attack of the Clones was the worst of the movies. Phantom Menace at least has its fun moments and works as a kid's movie, too. But everything about AOTC just felt very fake. From the script to the acting to the action, even the lightsaber fights felt more like they were the Vince Russo equivalent of gimmick matches (Two on one! Two sabers! Yoda! No in-fight storytelling! Really short due to shenanigans! OMG!!!). The entire movie was just a mess.
I wonder if Lucas has changed his mind any since this was back in 2007. Then again, I think he just likes trolling his fans these days. That and it was also the movie he was least involved with. He didn't even write the script, which is something he co-wrote with Kasdan for Jedi.
Though I was having a conversation with my friends about this, and let's see if you guys agree. If you were going to show someone who's never seen the movies, the order to go with would be this: Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi. Phantom Menace has the least relevance to the overall story so it can be skipped over if you're watching in a specific order.

I still think Lucas lost his mind many years ago. The guy is a flake.
This could be a troll attempt, maybe not, but I really don't care much anymore. I do sometimes get the feeling that he is trying to troll but it's either at the wrong time or done in a bad way.
Think of some awful 80s sitcom where the ultra-nerd tries to pretend to be cool but it all comes out painful and stupid-looking. That's what a lot of this reminds me of. It's like he's trying to sing the music without knowing the words.

OTOH, he was seen wearing a "Han Shot First" T-shirt, so he at least can admit his own mistakes.
